Yep, makes you wonder why he doesn't try to get to the FT line more often.

    From the OP:

"He needs to loose atleast around 20 lbs."

"Loosing weight will help him recover faster. If he can loose atleast about 20 lbs in the next month or so, thats 20 lbs of pressure off his knees. I think he should sit out the next week or two and just work on loosing weight."

I didn't even notice the "atleast" until now.

Yea, I guess I should loosen up. I don't want to lose focus on the message.

It is a sure thing. I just hope Rockets managements won't be dumb enough to still give him a new contract.

Losing 20 pounds is a bit much. I'd say he needs to drop 5-10 pounds at most.

    *lightbulb*

No wonder he sports that beard. I agree with losing weight. I've dropped about 10 lbs this year and my knees take less a beating on the court. I was a bit heavier in 2007 and knees HURT when you are overweight on the basketball court.

    Thumbs up thread...

Losing weight will make him faster, leaner, etc.

I brought this up a few months back and some long time member tried to give me the whole--"mac has a dedicated trainer, chef, special diet, can't order whatever he wants from room service" line of BS.

Losing 20 pounds will alleviate 60 pounds of pressure to the knees. It has a three-fold effect, not 1-1 like the OP said. I think the lose and loose has been discussed. :p

    Dr. Ronald Grelsamer
Weight management can alleviate knee and hip pain. "Your knees and your hips see many times your body weight," he says. "If you lose or gain 10 pounds, your knee and hip will think you lost or gained 30 pounds—40 pounds or 50 pounds if you are running or jumping," he says.

Gawd GUYS! He just needs to man up and you know, like, stop thinking about all his MENTAL ISSUES!

    ...

    TRUST me, I know!

    ...

His knee is FINE, I actually know this because I saw it on my TV! There were no bulges or ANYTHING!!

    ParaSolid

(I agree with the OP though, he needs to definitely try to change something because at this point I'd rather start Keyon Dooling)

He will never be what he use to be in orlando. but I agree that losing 15-20 pounds would help him tremendously.. He looks really bloated right now.
