Well, Dallas isn't really in Texas, so it makes sense I guess.

I rarely venture out of the baseball forum, but I read a couple comments on the first page and a couple comments here.

I've spent plenty of time in both states, and I'll take Whataburger every day of the week. And twice on Sunday.

Now, that's a *preference* thing. All my friends from California feel quite differently.

But the best burger I've ever had was in San Antonio. Chris Madrids baby.

My wife worked there as we dated all through college, I worked at the Tavern just across the street.

    I still love that place.

This is definitely a Snagger approved move.

I hope they bring some to Houston. I worked in San Jose for about a year and ate there several times. I prefer it over most other fast food burgers.

You need to try Smashburger if you have not already. Really good. For me, other than that, it is Five Guys all the way.

I've never eaten there, so I'm definitely curious. What I'd really like to see back in Houston is Taco Bueno.

I tried Smashburger once and thought it was great. I need to go there again.

I consider that a step above fast food burgers though.

If there ain't no drive-thru, it ain't fast food (unless other Smashburgers have drive-thrus).

If I'm just comparing fast food burgers, In-N-Out is up there among the best in my book, along with Wendy's. Never cared much for Whataburger. I still like McD's once in a while even if it's crappy quality. Their new Angus burgers are solid.

In-N-Out's are small and soggy, is that better?

Great burgers and fries, but no malt for the Blue Bell shakes and no rings. Two big flaws, in my opinion. Still, I eat there a lot, one being in my part of town. For those in Austin, I highly recommend Hat Creek Burger on Burnet, a couple of blocks south of Koenig, where the Arby's used to be. Great Blue Bell malts, even better fries than Mighty Fine, and I love the burgers. A little cheaper, too. Substitute a malt for the drink on a combo, and you'll save around a buck.

    Greasy, not soggy.

And I'll take a greasy burger every day of the week and twice on Sunday over one that is too dry and tough.
