Damned good burgers, for the money. Real french fries and onion rings. Good malts. Dan's at Manchaca and Ben White is the best, imo.

2 of my favorite burgers are the double double from In N out and the the single with jaleponos/bacon and cheese from WhataBurger. I live in Omaha so I get neither except when I go home to Houston or So Cal on business. I also like White Castle (in Chicago) and Steak and Shake (in Indy)

    C'mon.....

Nothing beats Whataburger or Fuddrucker's. Both of those places are simply hamburger bliss!!

Anyone remember the Krispy Kreme hype when they came to your town? It wasnt all that and a bag of donuts...... Now they are struggling financially because they grew too fast. Shipley's beats the bag out of any krispy krap.

There is this local joint in Waco called Kitoks and its seriously the best burger ive eaten IMO and only costs around $2-3. Ive eaten at almost all the burger places and i would choose this place over a I-N-O, whata, fuddruckers, any burger place. Add that with the "oriental fries", which is thinly sliced strips of potatoes, onions, and carrots battered and deep fried, and its the best meal. Its funny, cause even though the place is Korean owned and run and they serve korean food also, people go there for the bad ass burgers :D . I miss Baylor even more because I cant eat at this place :( .

    Where is that?

My favorite burger in Waco is a jalepeno cheeseburger from Health Camp.

I'd eat at Fuddrucker's on a regular basis if they weren't so expensive. Where else can you pile all the pico de gallo you want on a burger?

I agree on Krispy Kreme, also. It's a DONUT, people! The only time you camp outside a building is for concert tickets...

Kitoks is off of N 18th St, on the other side of 35. Its kind of hidden so you dont really stumble upon it unless you know someone whos been there before.

And Health Camp also serves some good burgers too, along with Big Daddys, but i think they just cater now.

Fuddrucker's has got the best and no mistake.

Expensive? hell yea, but so worth it.

give me the base toasted bun and the thick slab of grilled animal flesh, adn let me put all the stuff on it I want. liquid cheese, lettuce, mayo, shredded cheese, or whatever. DOnt let some minimum wage smuck heap the crap on it.

I did go to a place on my trip to Chicago that I thought was damn good, I cant remember the name of it...but it advertised having pure steakburgers. Maybe Steak and Shake? We found it halfway thru Illinois and the way to Chicago...so if anyone can confirm the name of this place I would appreciate it.

I'll have to check it out next time I drive through the area. Of course, I wish I had this information about four years ago. :)

I wish I could get a burger at a restaurant like the ones we made on Saturday. Ground sirloin with pepper jack cheese, mayo, sauteed onions, country style fries on the burger seasoned with cayenne pepper and Tony Saccheries (sp?) and some Polish horseradish. Yum.

No. You are wrong. I am right. :p

Steak N Shake has great hamburgers and is right up there with In N Out, Whataburger, Fuddruckers, and Johnny Rockets as one of the best hamburgers I have ever eaten.

I'm originally from Houston, so I know Whataburger and Fudrucker's. But having just meved to California, I can tell you that In N Out is actually better than both of them!

Definitely better than Whataburger, in my opinion. And although it is not a "premium" burger like Fudrucker's, I prefer it to Fudrucker's as well.

By the way, I'm a big Shipley's fan over Krispy Kreme too.

    I agree 100% Shipley's is a far superior doughnut.
