Making fun of addiction is not cool or funny at all.

Is it called "heroine addict" because the girl is really the heroine of the story? Is the point that what she's really addicted to isn't an opium derivative, but the need for a powerful female role-model, something that's sorely lacking in our male-dominated society? I think that's a brilliant insight into the female psyche man. What's ruining this girls isn't junk, it's the simple human need to have someone to look up to. Wow...

    The italics made it sweeter.

    Keep the Italics!

Maybe he should write a followup where the heroine of the story walks through fields of barley, like in Gladiator...

I'm going to make a serious post:

There's bad poetry, reading quality poetry, and book quality poetry. This is reading quality poetry. It's not very good when read silently, and the mixed-up measure really stands out. I read it aloud, and it's workable. It's a good subject, and with work on timing, you could make it work in a reading.

Maybe because you're always typing in italics...and misspelling words.

    -1, bringing it to

He didnt make the intention known, you stumble in and you're immersed in some urban version Death Cab For Cutie story without knowing what the heck's going on, was kinda weak how it was just plopped on out here.

But will give credit for the overall attempt of seeing who like the Def Poetry Jam sessions, which now it doesnt seem to be many

    Is this poetry Idol?

Dawg, I was feeling it until you said it was "just a poem". I feel that the best poems are all based on personal experiences.
