How can you ask this when 80% of this board hasn't watched Moses Malone, heck I wasn't a sperm when he was playing.
Dream > Moses >>>Yao And that is not a knock on Yao. It's just a testament to how lucky we've been with big men in Houston.
It's kind of an unfair question because I don't think we're truly seen Yao's prime yet. He's approaching his prime, but I think we're still 2 or 3 years away from seeing Yao at full strength (assuming injuries don't bar his progression)
what Yao should learn from Moses is his tenacious rebounding. Yao + improved rebounding = unstoppable
Unfortunately, that is impossible. If it were only a matter of willpower, then it would be doable, but it ain't.
One guy was a 3x mvp, one guy can't even make 1st team all nba. That makes it a no-contest. No knock on Yao, but of the list of rox big men, he might be behind elvin.
did Moses ever dribble behind his back on a fast break to elude an opponent? didn't think so. Yao for sure.
I saw footage of the '83 Finals one time; it was sad how bad Malone was manhandling Kareem in that series. Kareem was a little old at that time, but still. I think Kareem still got a Finals MVP in '85 though, or at least had a big series.
Another silly thread how many MVPs does Yao have? Oh yeah none. How many does Moses have oh yeah three.
