i'd trade tmac for the right deal, but there is no 10 players you can trade tmac STRAIGHT UP for. i would really like to see your list.

outside of lebron, kobe, paul, and possibly wade, there is no other 10 players you would trade tmac for. you must get a package back for tmac b/c no other players can provide the things he can. a lot of players outside of the guys i mentioned are fairly one-dimensional.

I've been watching Rockets ball for just about as long as i can remember, i was watching during the days of the dream and drex, the so called rockets "era" of barkley, franchise, and now ming and mcgrady

For me it would go like

    The Dream

    Ellie

    McGrady

    Yao

    Drex

    Franchise

    Mobley

So it is irrelevant to think that i've only been watching for a little time. I've seen all kinds of players come and go. I'm not just a McGrady fan, but i will come to his defense since he is one of my own, the one that helps my team win and gives it all hes got. I can't stand how people can make fun of their own players, i just can't. Not even Luther Head even though he's one of the ones that really does deserve it. Blind hate is what people like Chris Bosh/wekko do , just about the only player i could blindly hate is Kirilenko and for people to act that way towards mcgrady? It makes no sense whatsoever tbh

    1) Kevin Garnett
    2) Kobe
    3) King James
    4) Tim Duncan

Pure scoring threats who can still convert on the inside.

    5) AI
    6) Chris Paul
    7) Deron Williams
    8) Tony Parker
    9) Steve Nash
    10) Dwyane Wade
    11) Chauncey Billups

The PG and C positions are widely considered to be the most important on a team and the Rockets have real problems at the PG spot. If you can fill that hole I think you have to--it results in a better team. Parker, for instance, may not be the overall threat that T-Mac is in terms of creating his own shot but the position he plays is more critical to the team. Everyone else in that list I'd say is pretty much gold.

    12) Dwight Howard

Let him play power foward with Yao at the center, lol.

    13) Dirk Nowitzki

Maybe. At this point there's no question that his outside shot looks a lot better than McGrady's. That might be enough if the Rockets could use him to punish teams that collapse on Yao.

32 people voted for Tracy? Wow. Talk about drinking tmac cool aid.

Hakeem is the greatest center of all time and a top 50 NBA player.

let's just say thank god you're not our GM.

kevin garnett??? who will be our go-to scorer down the clutch? regardless if tmac doesn't make a good % of his shots down the stretch, he at least puts guys in position to do something. have you seen KG in the clutch in this playoffs? and yao buckles under pressure.

kobe, james, paul - i would do it in a heartbeat

duncan? you want duncan and yao to play together? i think you mean trade yao for duncan right?

iverson? i think everyone on the nuggets organization would do this trade + give you some cash

deron - he really impresses me v. the lakers so i most likely would do it.

tony parker? no. his type of game fits where he's not really the guy you focus on. if he comes here where he doesn't have duncan and manu to help him out, he'll struggle.

steve nash? can't play half-court and is a defensive liability? pass and morey would too

wade? led his team to the worst record? with some decent players? how do you say overrated?

    billups? are you serious?

you need to sharpen up on your basketball skills. outside of kobe, lebron, paul, and deron, how do any of these guys make us better? we take 2 steps back easily.

Every single team that has won a championship has had an above avg 2 or 3, one that haven't have lost.

    Miami-D-wade
    Lakers-Kobe
    Bulls-Jordan
Rockets-Drex, but Hakeem was so exceptional that we didn't need as good a SG anyways
Spurs-Manu would crumble under any other team without the best PF to ever play the game but he compliments them perfectly.
Pistons- Hamilton in his prime was exceptional

    Teams That have never won:

Jazz- Stockton ( Top 5 PG to ever play the game) with Mailman (top 5 PF to ever play the game)

Suns- Nash (Top 5 PF to ever play) Amare (Top 5 PF in the game today)

The only exception is Magic...also one of the best PGs of all time but he was so crazy because he could play the 2 or 3 just as good as anyone, also proving my point.

We have the 2nd best SG in the game today...the best passer out of all of them, 1 piece of the puzzle is complete.

We have the center, but we need decent sidekicks, which actually showed this year before Yao got hurt, everything was meshing just the way it should.

Trading McGrady or Yao would be extremely stupid.

Like I said before I've never seen Hakeem before but I've heard of many people rating Hakeem as the top 4-5 centers in the history of basketball. I personally think that Houston fans over blow what Hakeem is as a player. Top 20 I would definetley agree with, but top 10 is a hard stretch to hit. And its subjective anyway. Who knows how well Scottie Pippen in his prime would play without Jordan (well we sort of do due to the baseball seasons). And whats more Hakeem will always have a black mark against his championships, because there was no Jordan. Shaq in his prime vs Hakeem in his prime? Debatable. Its a catch 22 question. Wilt vs Hakeem? Kareem vs Hakeem? All three of these centers could easily take his place in the top 10.

Like I said comparing him to a swingman is ridiculous already, take the top person at each position you got the top 5 ever, then take the second best at each position you got the top 10 already. I really don't know if his a top 10 or not. Im just trying to say there is a high level of bias in this either way. But T-mac doesn't rate near him on both sides of the floor. But I would say if he bothered to play up to his potential (dallas defence + orlando scoring) he is a hell of an animal on both ends too. Just never happens thats all.

How was his 4th quarter production in games 1 & 2? what about the pivotal 3rd period in game 6? Was he aggressive then?

Yeah, I've always considered his poor shot selection to be brilliant basketball. Its a sure sign of high basketball IQ.

You're basing your conclusion on a single game. I'm basing mine on his overall play the past few years.

First of all, they're role players. They dont dictate the offense. I've never seen chuck take a heat check shot.

Secondly, this thread is about tmac. not luther. not bjax. not battier. etc...

You do realize he had major problems with weisbrod, correct? I'm pretty sure thats the main reason he was traded.

I'd say he plays with intensity about 70% of the game.

First, "bad enough to have surgery on" is very ambiguous. His knee had no structural damage to begin with.

Secondly, he played 6 playoff games. The more playoff games you play, the more your averages will drop.

I'm saying that tmac has earned every critical nickname he has. If people want to call him names, i'm not going to hold it against them.

Blind hater? In what sense? I have logic and stats to back up any contention i make.

    Umm,
    don't forget about:
(May 13, 1994) Down by 12 points at halftime in Game 3 of the 1994 Western Conference Semifinals, Vernon Maxwell turned the Rockets into road warriors. After losing the first two games of the series to the Suns at home, Maxwell made sure Houston wouldn't go down 0-3 in Phoenix by scoring 31 second-half points to lead the Rockets to a 118-102 win. "We are back," Rockets Head Coach Rudy Tomjanovich said. "Phoenix still has home-court advantage, but the pressure is on them now. And it's a lot different playing when you're under pressure."
