This doesn't change me wanting to blow up the team.

I don't agree with Barry being where he is. When he's gotten consistent minutes he's shot pretty well after the first couple of weeks of the season. This season is clearly on the Coach, Grady, Shane, Artest, and to a lesser extent Rafer. We are getting no where close to what we need out of the first 4 though.

The problem is that with Yao, you have the possibility of attracting big time free agents who are looking for contention. Without Yao, we will need to start from scratch like memphis or OKC. Grab a couple of young role players, and farm early draft picks for a couple of years and wait for them to develop.

I would like to see the rockets make a move to help the team for the 2010 season and beyond, trade Battier, Artest and Head and get two players who are tall, athletic, on the young side, with good speed and stamina, who can score the open shot. Then next off season we can address the need for the other Star player. In the meantime the team would revolve about Yao and good chemistry with our young shooters.
Rafer has just proved to me that he can play Point Guard, if he puts his mind to it. :p
