I agree... that is, unless he makes a major attitude adjustment.

Yeah sure, he's really messing up right now, but its not like I won't forgive him if he changes his ways and tries to make it right with the team.

    Either way...let's go freaking Rockets...

I am calling him a fat, lazy baby because that's how he is acting. If he decides to get with the team and start working his ass off like the other players on our team then of course people should change their stance on him.

JVG gave fat bonzi a chance and fat bonzi didn't look good. fat bonzi is throwing himself under the bus and this is ALL on him.

guys, what happened to waiting til the allstar break to find out if he should play or be traded? did that go down the tubes all of a sudden?

There is no way we should trade this guy right now....it doesn't make sense

"Bonzi will play with the rockets this season and he will perform well for us"

i bet bonzi wouldnt have pulled this kind of crap if he was still with the kings...i think we're being to lenient with him...i say jvg set him a deadline to get his ass into shape and 'personal' reasons into order or else we'll shipping his ass to another team...

yeah Jeff, I agree..maybe u should help me out.. I am gonna keep track of posters who are bashing Bonzi right now and calling for a trade and make a collection of Bonzi-hating posts... and by late June, I will hopefully start a thread with all the cool posts in it and with all the posters that changed their sig to "Bonzi is my grandpa" or started threads like "new nickname for the Bonzi instead of 'Bouncy Whales'" ... :D :D

Count me in as one of those "Bonzi haters". If he comes back and produces for us, then I'll admit I was wrong.

What's wrong with asking a player to be in shape? And if he's not, then trade him. Sounds right to me.

    :D

IC2000 is a pencil pusher for the the Rockets though, so his scoop shouldn't be so easily dismissed. That Reggie Bush quote however, will haunt his credibility for years here, but that was just his strong opinion with no real info behind it.

Personally, I'm not the slightest bit upset over the Bonzi Wells situation. I would like for him to be on the team, but if he's not in shape by Van Gundy's standards, then so be it. It was obvious that the last time he played, he hurt the team more than he helped.

I don't see nothing wrong with people being pissed at him though. Fans are entitled to their feelings and opinions. Once Bonzi comes back and makes an impact, there won't be anything wrong if those fans cheer him. I just think it would be foolish to try to trade Bonzi now. That's minimal trade value right there. If you don't think he can help win a championship, then at least showcase him first so his value can go up.

We didn't get Bonzi for nothing. JVG IMO should know better than engaging in a pissing contest with Bonzi.

While it would be nice to f someone's career over since he tried to f us in the first place; this is becoming a lose-lose situation for both the Rockets team and Bonzi. Our goal was clear when we got him: To USE him for one year and then he will leave. We need to stick w/ the game plan and get the most out of him. We will need him, especially in the playoffs.

Next year with the strong draft and many available free agents Bonzi would be pretty f'd anyway.

JVG is not the control-freak that he's made out to be. If he was, Bonzi would have gotten the ax by now. We're doing the right thing. Give Bonzi the space to dawdle around, since it's early in the season. He'll get motivated to join in on the fun as the season moves along, which may not be until after the ASG. Then he'll be our hired gun for the playoff push, which is why we got him in the first place. It's not like he's hurting the team right now, since he's not even with the team. Plus his absence gives some of our younger guys the opportunity to develop. If Bonzi was around from the start, we probably would have seen less of Snyder, Head and VSpan.

I'm not condoning his behavior whatsoever. I'm just glad that we have enough solid guys like Yao, TMac, Deke, JHo, etc. that will keep the team from being influenced by a loose canon like Bonzi. I do believe that eventually Bonzi will serve his purpose and we'll smell like roses in the end.

These 4th qtr collapses we've been having do not happen with bonzi in the lineup. He gives us a legitimate 3rd scoring threat when Yao/Tmac are swarmed by the defense. JVG needs to wake up soon.

You cannot make this statement with absolute certainty. My track record shoes that I criticize JVG when needed, but this statement borders on foolishness.

While in theory, the 3rd scorer is a legitimate need if the shooters aren't hitting their open shots, Yao is getting doubled without the ball, and TMac's jumper is off, so while in theory Bonzi's role is needed, you cannot claim that Bonzi can fulfill his role in his current state.

Unless you are involved and have inside info as to how Bonzi is playing now. For if you watched him the last time he played, it was very evident to even the most amateur basketball fan that Bonzi was not productive. I think he had 3 turnovers in the post for every successful post up. He was fat and slow to react. Yao was quicker than Bonzi.

So I have no idea if Bonzi is ready now. That's up to the Rockets and Bonzi. But he for sure was not helping back then. And as a fan who isn't connected, I cannot claim with good justification that Bonzi would have helped, because I just don't have that info on his conditioning. And neither do any other normal fans. And so us normal fans shouldn't be making blanket statements based only on emotion.

Bonzi has been a no-show for the majority of the season, so it's illegal to make jokes about him? I didn't know we were doing in-depth serious reporting for NBA.com

It would only be fair to also keep track of Bonzi defenders and see if they admit they were wrong if Bonzi turns out to be a bust.

I guess my sarcasm is hard to communicate through a message board. I know it was a joke. My point is why are you guys on a high horse? Don't talk negative about anyone, because you'll regret it? I know you guys would love to jump on the Bonzi-jokers if he actually contributes. But turnabout is fairplay and don't deny you were wrong if he busts. Will you guys speak up at the end of the year if you're wrong?

And you can check my posts, I'm on the fence w/ Bonzi. There's no point in guessing if he'll come around because I don't think Bonzi even knows if he will. I don't expect much considering we got him out of the bargain bin and it's kind of a bonus that we even have him. At the very least he didn't go to a Western Conference competitor to go against us. And we get the opportunity to make some clever (or not so clever) Bonzi jokes. :p
