I dont want Artest coming near my kids.

Thats if I had kids - and I lived on his side of the earth.

Yeah, because clearly there's no option between running away and going into the stands and beating on some random guy that wasn't even the guy that threw the beer at you. I'm sure those were his only options.

Man, who thought having Artest talk to children would be a good idea?

He could have said, "It was wrong of me to go into the stands and attack fans in retaliation for a thrown cup. Violence was not the answer. I should have let security handle the situation."

I seriously doubt that. He probably means what it sounds like he means: that if your parents were thinking about your best interests, they wouldn't divorce. I don't know why you'd want to bend Artest's words into something PC -- Artest isn't PC.

He's not a better shooter, but definitely a better player.

The real issue is that Ron Artest went after the wrong guy. Had he gone after the right guy, that would have been OK.

I'm still wondering where the "punches" Artest threw are at... I cringe everytime I see that in the media. A guy pulls your arm back from behind and it's called a punch, right.

Were these inner-city kids he was talking to? if so, then he isn't supposed to say the same things as he would in a well off school or even a middle class school. I'm glad he said what he said instead of giving the answer anyone would/could/should say.

I don't see anything wrong with it. He was attacked. He did defend himself. He probably shouldn't have considering that in doing so he actually put himself in more danger.

But yeah, I think you're reaching here, Tom.

I'd take artest over dirk, if I had someone else who could score already. I think artest is better all around. naturally dirk is a much better scorer, however.

What about the two guys who came onto the court and confronted him? Was he wrong there?
