At least he has the coconuts to make the moves when we really need it. Snagging Thomas for a 4th and switching 7th's was gold imo.

Hey, don't forget to give me some ****in' credit! I called John and got this ****in' trade done! Brian wanted to offer a 5th, I said give them a ****in' 4th and told Horseface he was gonna accept our ****in' offer whether he liked it or not! Now that we got Thomas, we're gonna go out and beat the **** out of them on Sunday!

Thus far it appears he did well in a draft with limited picks.

Heard on the radio from Pancakes and the hosts that they believed Rick Smith would have made this trade too. He just never had a key player go down with injury at the deadline while in first place before.

I semi believe them only because it was a trade with DENVER. But other than that, there is no way Rick had the balls for moves like this.

Osweiller, Ed Reed, Wilfork, Deshaun freaking Watson all took a lot of guts.

Just like most things that "takes a lot of guts" you'll end up getting kicked in the teeth just as often as you'll look like the hero.

Wasn't talking about offseason pickups. Just midseason trades. Osweiller, Reed, and Wilfork required throwing money and talking to FA. Watson required a trade up in the draft, also he was really good at first round picks. But midseason, trading picks or players to other teams, deciding your team is all in... thats different

Osweiller and Watson, certainly. In what way were cheap, low-risk contracts to aging veterans in Reed or Wilfork gutsy? Signing random secondary free agents seems like a minimal standard of the job.

They were over the hill options that would be given starting jobs.

Ed Reed was gutsy because he was over the hill and the team was banking on him to replace Glover Quinn. I read a lot about how Wilfork's contract was too high because of his age. Especially from people from the NE area who knew more about him.
