In all seriousness, Brian Cook could be the X Factor

This is a much better and far more realistic solution than proposed by the OP. OP's suggestion is from another planet.

Von Wafer is the real X factor. He was cooking during the second game, and this is the playoffs where over the years we have seen many Rocket players disappear. He seems to be up to the challenge; drive him down that lane. He scores or goes to the line.

If you want to go with an old-school Rockets line-up, with four 3-point shooters on the floor and Yao in the middle, it should be:

    Yao
    Artest
    Battier
    Von Wafer
    Brooks

All excellent spot up 3 point shooters. When the Blazers try to go big, I'd love to see Adelman use this smaller lineup. And Artest is big and strong enough to play adequate defense at the 4 spot.

Its an interesting idea, but I wouldn't use him unless nothing else is working, since it hasn't been tested yet. I don't trust Cook honestly. But, I like the idea in general. If we picked up a decent (By this I mean better than Cook) 3 shooting PF/C this off-season to put in when Yao is being fronted or to change things up, I think it'd be a pretty nice luxury and help us, though it'd be hard to find.

    Or gets blocked twice.

Sorry, I agree with you.. just playing devil's advocate.

Wafer could have 35 points but if he is in there at the end of the game and gets blocked twice the GARM will destroy him because he didnt have the Magic Johnson ability to sense the block and teleport the ball to Yao.

I really think we will see more Wafer attacking in game 3. Especially if the Blazers are reluctant to get out of that defense.

No, a suggestion from another planet is having Lowry play PF.

This is interesting. We could try Cook at PG and Lowry at PF on offense.... on defense we could put Wafer on Roy, and Artest on Alrdridge... maybe Barry can take Przybilla.
