What the balls? They can say whatever they want as long as it's not explicitly slanderous, bigger corporations typically stick to title and start- and end-dates, but that's more standardized protocol than what a manager might say on their cell phone outside of earshot. They can always disclose if you're ineligible for re-hire, which pretty much says everything a prospective manager needs to know.

Also, what on earth do you think happens once an employee does file a lawsuit? The company refrains from talking bad about you, or gets every single one of your co-workers to deny your claims and pile on extra slams of their own?

Don't ever pay attention to that garbage; half of those are written by weirdos in IT and morons in marketing. Between happy hours and 3 o'clock bull sessions with the boss you can control your own situation and satisfaction at work.

ok let me complete my answers to this:

    1. current situation if i stay: 60k + 5k after 1 year ending in good performance + 5k another year ending in good performance
potential opportunity: 70k (according to recruiter, but someone said don't rely on what a recruiter says) If I shouldn't rely on what he says, what should i aim for with my next job, given my current salary contract situation?

    2. my first job, 1 year and four months currently

    3. not really, they make us like work horses with no actual benefit than to just work like minions. the experience is good SOMETIMES, lately i've been getting some projects for the first time. other than that, i'm tired of the people. my work/life balance isn't great. don't have time to go to church or the gym when i want to. overall tired all the time. i wish it was just 8-5 and my chances for promotion depended on performance and not just how many overtime hours i put in but i know that's not realistic if i want to become a manager of some sort someday given my field (engineering).

    4. don't know anything except what i read on glassdoor with a 2 1/2 star rating. that it's a russian owned company and people hate it.

on a side note: i'm getting a lot of responses for my resume that i posted online. I got two more e-mails today, one saying they want to call me tomorrow.
