hmm maybe take turns trying to run the ball into the end zone while the other tries to tackle.

    How is it a pick-up game if it's one-on-one?

If they played best of seven it would probably go seven games. Seriously folks, the skills between the starter and the last guy on the bench are usually minimal if they exist at all. It's the mental part that separates players in this league. Neither guy has a clear cut advantage here.

There is no way to tell what kind of one-on-one player either guy is based on watching them play NBA ball. For example, Kevin Martin says Lowry is the best shooter on the team in practice so how do you know he wouldn't rain 3s on Brooks right from the start? On the other hand, how do you know Brooks' superior vertical wouldn't give him an advantage on the boards when there is no traffic to rebound in.

    Brooks easily.

He could get by Lowry on command. Sure he's not great on D, but Lowry isn't great on O, especially in the half-court.

Just because Lowry has 40 pounds on Brooks doesn't mean that he would somehow dominate Brooks... it's not like Lowry's bread and butter is his post game like Karl Malone..... Lowry drives to the basket hard and usually gets a foul on a big man. Also, there's such a huge disparity in their shooting. Brooks can shoot deadeye from the 3...move with an array of shots. Lowry just doesn't have that arsenal. Even if it wasn't one on one and just with the team, Brooks is still the more explosive player. He's weaving through traffic with his speed and he has some serious moves. Like someone mentioned here, in a one on one situation, the guy who's the better shooter usually wins. It's not just that in this case because Brooks is alos the faster player, the more skilled and the more athletic.
