Here are ten reasons Chris Bosh should consider the Houston Rockets his top choice. 1. Bosh gets to be the man. The Rockets are one healthy star away from being a legitimate contender, and Bosh could be the final piece of the puzzle. Add Bosh, a bit of roster tweaking, and the future looks bright. Bosh would have the opportunity to be the savior of the franchise, and the foundation of the team, which is exactly what he reportedly wants. 2. Bosh gets to be closer to home. 3. Bosh gets to play for a team with a lot of talent. Granted, the Rockets will have to give up something to get him, but there will still be plenty left, or Morey won't make the deal. 4. Bosh gets to play with Yao Ming, a player well regarded by his teammates. A player who is unselfish, and a player who brings extra Chinese endorsements to his teammates. Yeah, I think Bosh's agent is well aware of this fact. 5. Bosh gets a better tax situation in Texas. 6. Bosh gets to live in a warm weather city. 7. Bosh gets to live in a city that many NBA think very highly of. 8. Bosh gets to play for a well respected and well liked coach. 9. Bosh gets to play for a team with good locker room chemistry. 10. Bosh gets to be the man. Yeah, I know I already listed this, but it's important enough to be mentioned twice. If Bosh wants to be a sidekick, he'll go to Miami or NY, but only Houston offers him the chance to be the man. .
Created a twitter just for this. @chrisbosh Houston man! No tax, Great young core, you'll be main guy. Most importantly... DARYL 'DORK ELVIS' MOREY. Best gm in the league.
Is it Bosh's decision? The Rockets can't sign him as a free agent. They don't have the cap space. It seems to me that if we're to get him, its Toronto's call. Not Bosh's.
The Raps GM has alread stated that whatever he decides they will work with him to get what he wants, so they arn't going to force him to walk. So it is Bosh's call...
I understand it would be Bosh's choice whether to sign with a team in free agency or request the sign and trade. But if Bosh is committed to a sign and trade because of the extra money he'd get, I would think Toronto will do a deal that is in its best interests. If the Mavs or some other team makes a better offer than Houston, why wouldn't Toronto do that instead?
Heres mine: @chrisbosh Houston! Morey, Win now situation with young core, Adelmen, Chinese Market! $$Endorsements$$, YAO, HUGE FAN BASE!! And TEXAS!!!!!
It's both their calls. Bosh has to put us on his "list", teams that he's willing to get traded to. Then it's up Morey put together the best deal out of those teams. First things first, Bosh has to be willing to come to Houston or it's all moot.
I agree, they would need to work out what's best for both parties, its not totally Bosh's decision (Bosh isn't walking from 30 million, neither are the Raps letting him walk for nothing). But the way I see it, since there are quite a few possible players in this sweepstakes, the value of return will be high regardless of which team it is. The Raps have a lot of holes on their team, they arn't going anywhere fast, I don't think they are looking for anything specific, so I'm guessing they will be flexible in what they will accept back. Also, the Raps can't afford to worsen their reputation in the league among the players, they will do what he wants only so they don't look bad...they already struggle getting guys up here.
Raps do NOT have a choice in the matter... BOSH IS EXPIRED... It is very nice of Bosh to work a sign & trade, but he will essentially have the choice in what team he wants to go to, or he could just leave the Raps with nothing...
@chrisbosh Come spend the summer in Houston, I know you'll love playing here next year 6:32 PM Apr 24th via web Actually sent this last week already.
Because Bosh's signing the contract would be contingent upon being traded to the team of his choice. He's not going to blindly sign with the Raptors with the risk of being dealt to any team in the league.
If all Bosh wants is the max 6 year deal and doesn't particularly care where he ends up, or at least if he is more or less neutral as between the Rockets and another team (say, Dallas), then Toronto has some leverage to play the two (or more) teams off each other and he'll end up with the team that offers Raptors the most. So, the best thing for Toronto is for Bosh to go to them and say "Here are the list of 3 or 4 teams that I find acceptable as long as I get the 6 year max deal, you go make the trade. I don't really care which of the 4 teams I end up with, and I don't care who ends up leaving that team in a trade for me and I don't care whether or not Hedo comes with me, you just go make a deal." However, if Bosh ends up with a favorite destination, then Toronto doesn't have that much leaverage. Let's say Bosh chooses Houston as his #1 team (but it will work with other teams, too), then what Bosh would do is to say "Brian, my favorite team is the Rockets. Let's make a sensible deal for all 3 sides. Otherwise, I'll take 1 year less, go join Dwyane Wade in Miami in a straight up signing and leave you with nothing (or maybe we can work a S&T with Miami, but they got cap room so you won't have that much leverage with them)." In this case, even if another team, say, Dallas, offers something clearly better than the Rockets offer (for example, they are willing to eat Turk's contract and give them Roddy B.), Toronto doesn't have much leverage. They can call Bosh's bluff, but they may end up with nothing. In any case, the job for Houston is to convince Bosh that this is the best spot for him, and then for Houston and Bosh to work together to push Toronto into a sensible deal using Bosh's leverage of just signing with a Miami (or NY or NJ, etc.) and leaving Toronto empty handed. Toronto won't take a return that's worst than being empty handed, but they'll basically have to consider anything more than that or at least anything at or a bit above what they could have gotten from a Miami-type team (ie. one with cap room) in a S&T because that's what they'll end up with if a deal isn't reached with the Rockets. Now, please note that the issue here isn't so much whether Bosh really doesn't mind taking $30 mil less and 1 year less or whether Bosh really has interest in Miami, Bosh just has to convince the Raptors that signing straight up with Miami is a viable threat. If he does that, Raptors will simply have to get what they can out of Bosh's favorite team. I really don't recall a FA ever just gave his team a list of teams and say, S&T me to any of those, I don't care which. I think the 2nd scenario (i.e. Bosh picks a favorite) is much more likely.
Completed. I said. Yao, Aaron Brooks, Kevin Martin, Rick Adelman, we will be an instant contender with you in the mix
