Bro you know the dangers of using stats so I wont dwell on that too much. If you want to bring up other "big" names in those statistical comparison then its just anecdotal. We dont know if Mobley will translate until he does. Wasnt he also knocked for having a very low rebounding percentage in comparing him to these other bigs drafted recently? It doesnt mean I think he's a bad rebounder. The label "unicorn" doesnt even hold water anymore, but since we are on the topic yes - Marvin Bagley was considered one: https://www.sportskeeda.com/basketball/5-unicorns-in-the-2018-nba-draft its way too easy and lazy to say 3 years later Bagley was "not it" when at the time he definitely was to those guys espousing the Big Man Fallacy.
All I know is that during draft time that label was not applied to Mobley. And for good reason, Mobley played more like a stretch 4 with athleticism and advanced offensive repertoire in paint. Mobley had a decent albeit inconsistent dribble, below average passer (for a big), average to below average rim protection (due to short wingspan and disinterest in help defense) and his IQ was nowhere near Mobley's, offensively and especially defensively. Bagley did at one time have lateral agility to defend perimeter but injuries have seemed to rob him of much of that skill in NBA. Bagley was no doubt the better scorer and rebounder. And that elite 8 finish needs context, Bagley was on a stacked Duke team. Very different from the undermanned and overachieving USC team that Mobley LED. Unless you believe that Isaiah and Eaddy are on par with Wendell Carter, Gary Trent, Grayson Allen, Marques Bolden or even Trevon Duval as teammates? Not to mention Coach K?
Can anyone please clarify for me if the Rockets have the Brooklyn pick in 2022, in addition to their own?
