Whoever or whatever is behind this, it seems that its thought that PHO, LAL and DAL are going to have injuries and/or player issues later in the season while LAC wont. Interesting take. I am also wondering if it is saying that Houston will be the 5 seed.
It probably also includes some strength of schedule. We're almost done with bracing ourselves with the 2 brutal months.

I am surprised they give us 90% odds to make the playoffs, way above teams like GS, NO, Sac, Dal, and LAL.
Perhaps its thought the Rockets will get better as the season wears on where as with those other teams, not so much.
I have a small amount of money on that, but I did smash the season over under when it was below 30 wins at first.

I doubt it has much opinion involved. It will simply be based on the stats so far, and project future results on past results. It would be more than W/L - they probably include offensive and defensive metrics top. PHX has the 3rd hardest remaining schedule DAL 8th LAL 11th Ours is one of the easiest.
I remember when the McHale Rockets had a 96% chance to make the playoffs with like three weeks left. We didn't make it, lol.
Its purely math. The Rockets have the 7th best point differential and one of the harder SOS. Udoka is correct that they should be better than .500, and they likely will be balance of the year (pending health). Yet another reason the panic here after every loss is silly.
