LOL. I mean we all know this and its been obvious to most watching, great he sees that. Not that KPJ can't be the primary creator sometimes but he probably works a lot better spotting up and finishing plays.
End of shot clock, end of game, give it to kpj or Jalen whoever has the mismatch. Just don’t do that as the foundation of your offense, its the bailout when your offense is stuck.
@DreamShook is hungry for some good basketball. @SamFisher believes that you can instill just about any professional coach and the results will be the same dependent on the personnel. I can't wait until next season.
OH definitely. To clarify my LOL is more at the past coaching staff that didn't figure this stuff out. Udoka immediately sees that Sengun is more of a creator and that KJP is good as a spot up shooter so he needs to do more of that. Immediately Udoka is trying to maximize what players do well, at least that's what he's saying now, he has to get these players to do what he tells them and that's half of the job (because apparently players were not always doing what Silas wanted them to do) but Udoka is a stern coach from what we hear so I imagine he's not going to take well to players ignoring roles. Definitely on the side that coaches can be extremely important. I mean, I don't think the Rockets doing well would prove that, think that's already been proven. I mean the Heat are 3 games away from ANOTHER improbable finals appearance. Is there any doubt that Coach Spo squeezes the most out of his team no matter the players?
KPJ is a good player. Ultra skilled. Everybody who knows basketball sees that. Its just that Silas wanted him to be point guard which he doesnt have mentality for
Never forget Silas made us hate KPJ, an off guard, because he tried to make him Luka and James Harden.
@SamFisher is an idiot. share this post with people you know. look how Spo got the 8th seeded Miami heat playing. coaching matters as much as any great player.
The conspiracy theory was that all these were intentional tanking, either the FO knew Silas was bad and used him as the fall guy or Silas was bought in for the scheming. A lot of people believed (and still do) that's exactly what it was. I said back then that if this was true, then they were worse than being incompetent. How can you intentionally teach the kids to do the wrong things in order to tank! This is especially infuriating given now we are getting the #4 pick.
[ ^ a dope who literally spent most of the day, as he does every single day.... posting about former coach Stephen Silas My best to you and your family.
In all seriousness, how many games do you think coaching cost the Rockets last year? What is the counterfactual and exactly why? Like, pick any coach, I don't care who, tell me what you think they would've done with the same players and why? My thesis is that these guys mostly stink because as has been pointed out to me a billion times, they're young and not very good (this is always pointed out to me as a reason to think they one day will be good) I
Ime Udoka is saying all the right things I wonder what Silas was telling Stone and the crew when he catfished them into hiring him?
Man, sooooohe'll. glad we don't have a junior high coach ruining our team anymore. The last 3 years were basketball hell.
Ime has been crying out for shooting all offseason…hopefully Stone hears his pleas PG and 3 point shooting are the team’s biggest issues by far that need to be addressed
