Great defender. Still rounding into shape from surgery. Likely not worth what we'd have to give up to get him.

Why are people always saying "rockets should go for ____________, he was really good during linsanity" as if they want the Rockets to become that team. It's ridiculous why can't Lin grow to become a different player? If he really is good he should be able to adapt/change his game.

Excellent defender, above average 3pt shot cheap and young, only problem is recent injury. Speakibg without homer glasses like most hear, i would trade a rookie for him

He's already doing it. His strength is a small part of his game now. On the other hand, his weakness is becoming a big part of his game. This is one of the reasons that Lin struggled earlier this season.

    Silly post
Shump is a starter in NY.
HOU can't sign him to be a backup when the back-court have Lin and Harden.

32.4% on 3s in his career. I know Jeremy Lin has set the bar low, but don't go thinking he's actually a good shooter.

    No interest in him.

Not a great shooter but is young enough to still improve that aspect of his game. He is a great defender who has the potential to become an elite wing defender...would I trade for him?? At the right price but key word is POTENTIAL so it truly depends.

He is overrated. I don't see him ever becoming good offensive player. Knicks would be crazy not to trade him for Dudley/Reddick and picks.

If you want to get a player who was a huge part of Linsanity.. it's Tyson Chandler.

If only our crowd is half as rowdy as the Knicks crowd. There are times that the Toyota center crowd almost look too lazy to cheer or get up. Too uptight.

If only our city showed half as much enthusiasm for the rockets as it shows for the texans...

I just dont understand why the fans dont support the Rockets, part of it has to do with the fact that Rockets games are played so frequently, and Texans games are played on Sundays. I truly believe if Stern or the NBA cut the regular season to 66 games( more fans would show up).

common logic supports that the less games equals more butts in the seats

You are obviously not familiar with this entity called the NFL.

Man, this kid is underrated. No, he's not a star and he's not great offensively but he's a game changer.HE WINS YOU GAMES.

People think tyson and novak were the next most important players during that short run (and i love them both) but it was shump. When theyre losing a game (not just during linsanity), just assign shump to the best opposing player and he'll shut them down or really slow them down and make them cautious, even players like dwayne wade. I think he'll be the best perimeter defender in the league soon but whether he will be or not he's worth it to wait for next year for him to be healthy.

Plus he worked tirelessly on his three point shot while recovering and is currently shooting 43% from 3, even though its a small sample size.

Im not saying do anything to get him but if we dont have to give away too much then get him. He's got more potential then a lot of our young guys and 22 year old lockdown defenders don't grow on trees.

I watched a lot of Knicks last year, pre Linsanity.

Shump is way better than Norris Cole.

Shump's is stronger, and had better vert and could get to the rim and finish better than Norris.

His D was awesome and he had a fearsome attitude towards playing the game, and a ton of confidence ( too much as he jacked up all kinds of bad shots.)

He is the perfect complement to Jeremy lin I think. Better than Harden, although obviously Harden is way better, Shump makes Lin better by being able to handle the ball up court but ultimately Lin creates.

I want to clarify what I mean by above, Harden is obviously better for the team, but Harden takes away touches from Lin, which results in less shots and passes. But Shump won't.

If and when he gets a proper three point shot and he get 85-90% of his athleticism back, than watch out.

Nope. He's good at what he is, but he's not who we need. Would rather just take a wing defender in the draft when we inevitably purchase a pick.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying Shumpert is a more important player than Tyson. I'm just talking about that winning streak. For example, when they were losing the game in toronto and they switched shump onto jose, thats what turned the game around and put them in the position to pull out a win.
