All they have to do is amnesty Amare and that free up 20 millions. But with Melo running the team, they will have no hold regardless what talents they bring in. Just look at Tyson Chandler, one of the best big man in the league and he is useless under Melo's knicks.

Used it on Billups a while back. They're stuck with Amare.

Knicks are going to be a year older and it's not like they had much young talent aside from Shumpert. If anything they'll lose 5 more games then this past year.

Shumpert with another year is good.
Chandler, Melo, and Amare with another is bad.

Also, Ray Felton without a chip on his shoulder (and in his mouth instead) over a full summer is VERY bad.

I doubt they would make the playoffs in the west. Outside of Indiana and Miami, I do not think any eastern team would make the playoffs in the west..

It is pathetic that all these years the east has been so much worse than the west. It is unbelievable how this continues.

Iman should aim for 60 points for the season.

How is six wins more than this season “LMAO“, especially considering their injury woes? Some people here actin like he said championship or 70 wins like Metta did.

Only two teams won 60 games this year (Miami 66, OKC 60). They had injury woes because they fielded a team full of geezers that were injury prone. Amare is one of the most injury prone guys in the league, and you can bet he's gonna be injured again at some point next season. I'd be shocked if they even get to the 54 wins they had this year, which was an overachievment. You're right, six more wins might not be 'LMAO'... it's probably more like 'LMFAO'.

Wouldn't be surprised. If Stoudemire can give them 60ish efficient games, and Shumpert can get back to his old form then they can easily win 6 more games.

It might take them further in the playoffs, but they still won't win the East without additions to the roster. If JR Smith walks, they might even have a worse season than last since he was a big part of their success.

I don't think the Knicks have anything to offer to improve their roster. Without Kidd's leadership they're going to be a worse team next season.

Knicks should think about calling the Clips and offering Chandler for Bledsoe and DeAndre. They need to get younger and get a real PG. Clips might do the deal to reunite CP3 with Chandler.

What do you expect him to say?

The Knicks' best chance was last season and even then they were defeated handily by the Pacers.

Going into next season they are at best, the 3rd best team in the Eastern conference. If D-Rose comes back strong and the Nets can figure out how to play together, then they may be the 5th best team.

They are losing at least 3 of their rotation guys, everyone else will be a year older, Chandler and Melo had injury questions heading into the off-season (and of course Stat), they are in luxury tax hell, plus I can't really see any vets or FA's wanting to play there anyway.

In short, they are in as bad a situation as you can be. They aren't winning the title, they don't really have any young players to build around, they have no cap space.

What Shump wants to say is "Get ready for 3-4 years of early playoff exits." But instead he said what he should.

They might be able to if Rose doesn't come back and with Philly and Boston in tank mode. Also the Toronto can't-decide-if-tanking-or-not-so-forever-treadmill Raptors. That's 12 easily winnable games.

He forgot to mention that includes summer league and preseason games.
