I know but that's not an effective argument. The point is some can be abused less than others, so we have to try to climb that ladder. Durant is notoriously poor in the clutch for example, and just having a good defender doing their best keeps it that way rather than letting him make us the one team he takes down in the clutch.
ya i'd be interested in seeing defense highlights from this year though playing with the kings and what we saw last night ... i can understand why those would be scarce lol.
Most recent "highlights" vid I could find. Results aren't too great, but it's only one game. Comes against the Clippers on 1/27, I believe. For those that want text: Offense: > Bricks wide-open 3 (2x) > Assists Buddy on a 3. > Makes wide-open 3 (2x) > Bricks a 3, but might have been run into. > Bricks pull-up 3. > Bricks contested 3 (2x) > Cuts into lane fluidly and makes difficult shot. Might have been fouled. > Goes coast-to-coast, driving past Bev and Harrell for the easy layup. Defense: > Slaps @ ball and ball goes off Bev's knee. > Helps off his man against Harrell the post, but fouls Harrell. > Tries to slap at ball when Lou drives, and fouls Lou (a la every Harden defender ever) > Fouls Tobias in the post. > Slaps at ball when guarding Tobias. May have fouled him. > Fouls Lou, trying to navigate a PnR.
Honestly, even though he may seem inconsistent, being on a team with Harden and CP3 can only help him. Fox and Hield are good, but definitely not even close to Harden and CP3. I think Shump is going to thrive.
looking at his hayday highlights of defense, I probably underestimated him for not being able to defend KD or something in those 2 finals series lol. Though it was old man richard jefferson getting torched more than him. Overall, he seems like an ideal fit, like a more solid/less gambling beverly. And without all the antics. I like him. His offensive game looks a lot more fluid than beverly's ever was too. in those sacramento highlights, his jumpshot looks the same each time and he even had a little stepback in his game too. He definitely worked at adding to his game on that end. If only he was 6'7 ... lolz, but still not a bad move by morey imo.
Luc was injured during our playoff run last year which is why i think shumpert can be an improvement. But yes when Luc was healthy he was pretty nice rotation player to have.
