Maybe, maybe not. But look at the number and the age difference, also consider it's Curry's first season in NBA, I'd guess fans would love him more than AB if he plays for Rockets.
What about Deron? Did you call him an All-star before this year, even though it was his first official All-Star appearance?
You got me on this one. I don't think AB has played on the same level as DWill of the past, that's actually the point. But what could I say more to convince blind AB lovers? I can't. So I had to use the hard line here. But if AB actually develops into an All-star type player, I'd be glad to call him an all-star even if he doesn't play all star game. Right now, he's just not there yet.
But you gotta consider this is AB's first season as a starter, plus Curry is 22 and Brooks is 24, so I don't see much of a difference in that dept, Both of them will be great PGs in the upcoming years.
See? You discount every fact about Curry and suggest I'm overrating him. How about look the other way around? Maybe you are giving too many excuses to AB and overrating him?
I agree with that I was just wondering. I definitely don't think he has played anywhere near Deron's level the previous years when he didn't make the all-star team.
Hahaha. You seriously think you were "owning" me? You didn't respond to any of the points I made, you just kept repeating the same simplistic BS over and over again, trying to condense the entire game of basketball down to one element (AST/TO).
Regarding age: I don't think it's nearly as important as minutes played. Compare how many minutes AB has played to how many guys like CP3 and D-Will have played. He has played much, much fewer. Skills grow better through experience, not through simply growing older. That is why AB has much more room to improve.
I was talking about a different poster. I don't mind if you are willingly jump on the ship though. It was you who tried to shift topic, Ask a stats guru like dervesa, when it comes to decision making for a PG, which one is more important? TO numbers or Ast/To ratios? And if you believe AB is a better decision maker than Nash because Nash has more TOs, I don't even want to own you, you are not worth it. And now you just made another shift. When we are talking about how important ast/to ratio is to decision making, you all of a sudden shift that to "entire game of basketball ". AB would get kicked out f the NBA if that's the only thing to consider in the "entire game of basketball ". Nice try. But still fail.
I agree with you that this is AB's first starter season, and he went through a hell of a learning curve that vastly improved his game. But Curry is already an offensive beast with amazing natural court vision in his rookie season, which leads me to believe that while AB may be a near-All Star, Curry will be a Superstar. Watching Curry play, he makes very few of the pg mistakes that Brooks did in his rookie season, and is still prone to making in his first starter season(although the turnovers have gone down, thank god.) Curry is as good a shooter as brooks, if not better, knows when to slow down the tempo or pump it up, has incredible handles, and makes terrific highlight passes on an almost weekly, if not nightly, basis. The only thing he might lose to Brooks is speed.
Only Blind-Brooks-Lovers think that way. It's a big question mark how many minutes Yao can play next season. If Yao can play like last year, AB will never be a threat to be the man. If Yao can't play better than AB, I as a YOF wouldn't mind other player to take over the role, just like I have no problem with Tmac being the man when he was clearly better than Yao. That being said, unless AB makes a huge improvement, a team lead by AB is not going anywhere, and it wouldn't be good for Rockets. Only Blind-Brooks-Lovers can't see that.
Well spoken OP !! AB is top 10 as a PG, a borderline all star and is getting better and better. Come on people celebrate, Rafer is gone.....HHHHHOOOOOOORAAAAY !! And the Yao fans are worried, that is a fact........they want him to be the man. Newsflash....Yao is now a star role player, it is no longer his team, it is AB's team, he is option number 1. Yao and Kmart share option 2. DD
You're completely ignoring the point that Adelman's system does not run through the point guard, there for AST/TO is not a viable point of comparison between Brooks and point guards in other systems. Yet you keep trying to use it as such, which is patently ignorant, even after being corrected multiple times. If anyone is failing here, it's you. Sure, Conroy has more room for improvement. That doesn't mean he has a higher ceiling... he will always be worse than AB. But yes, I think he is farther from his ceiling than Brooks is. Same as Brooks is farther from his ceiling than Deron Williams.
Curry is going to be a star in the league, it amazes me how people would take AB over Curry. You can make an argument for Curry being better than AB already. My god....AOFs... Nothing against AB, we won't get be getting a better point guard any time soon.
Really, because while AB does have his goofy moments, I've never seen him turn the ball over in the clutch unless a miss shot counts as such. Early in the game and in the middle, I've seen them, but really, it isn't nearly as bad as many would make it with the assist to turnover stat. But really, while I agree that AB isn't yet elite, I also think those that hate on him go for overkill. He scores a lot, so they like to label him as a shot first PG, despite the fact that most of the year, he was the most capable scorer from any location on the court and was the only one that could create for himself. Can someone name a "top" PG that played most of the season without any 'All Star' talent to dish it off to? Besides bringing up Chris Paul an the the debate of whether David West qualifies as one. Lately, with Martin and Scola helping divide focus, Brooks assists have improved and overall so has the Rockets overall offensive game. What it comes down to is that, none of it matters so long as Brooks game keeps improving, because right now he is the best PG the Rockets have. *Throws rock into Lowry fan boys cage*
