16+ PPG on about 13 shots per game 10+ APG 47+ percent shooting 39+ percent 3P% Give me those numbers with a bit better defense and i'll consider him among the elite.
I think you are being ridiculous. RA's system is known to decrease assist numbers for PGs, but isn't known to inflate PG's TOs. Ast/To ration is a better indication of how good a decision maker for a PG. AB's Ast/To ratio is at the bottom of NBA starting PGs.
So let me get this straight.. you saying that Jennings and Curry are better than Brooks?? Just simple answer .. Yes or No
No point guard will ever get those numbers in Rick Adelman's system. We could bring CP3 here and I doubt he would get 10+ APG.
I don't see what is wrong with listing Rondo as a better pg than Brooks. Pretty sure most people think that.
hey I would take a 20 ppg point, 5+ assists point guard anyday of the week; i love brooks for his scoring ability and extraordinary speed
Brooks is a better scorer than most point guards with the exception of chris paul and steve nash and deron willaims
Good very good it's all about the same to me. But how many teams have won the championship with an elite pg? Sure it would be great to have one but it's not something you need to win a Championship. You just need a dependable PG if you build your team right.
Nice try, except assists are half of Ast/To, remember? You have to adjust for the decrease by Adelman's system, and since only Morey knows that amount, you're dead in the water with direct comparisons to other team's point guards. However, Brooks turns the ball over LESS than any other so-called "elite" point guard mentioned here regularly, except for Chris Paul. Go look for yourself.
Majority of the non-Rockets fans would take Rondo over Brooks in a heart beat. I'd be surprised to see if the percentage is less than 80%. Spurs fans wouldn't even trade George for AB, that shows you how other team's fan's view of this matter.
Check out Terry Porter's days in Portland... Honestly, Brooks doesn't need to be elite just good and he is that. Again, unless you get a superstar then he stays.
Again, you are shifting the topic from ast/To ratio to the number of TOs. 10assits/4Tos is way better than 5 assits/3 Tos, Are you so uneducated to see such a simple thing?
True but offensively with Yao I think AB is a better fit for Houston than Rondo. Defensively though Rondo is on another planet.
It's a no-brainer for me. I'd like to give GS another 1st round pick. Stephen Curry has better shooting and much much better passing game. Besides, S curry is 6-3 not 5-11.
A lot of people discredit Stephen Curry because of the system he plays in. I think that is wrong to do though. Curry is going to be a very good player in this league.
And I forgot to answer your last question. Is Yao overrated? No if you see so many fans like you would take AB over Yao. He was getting called "soft" and "bad defensive player" while in fact he's one of the toughest and the one with the biggest impact on Rockets team. Yao was rated perfectly right, 2nd best center before he went down last year. AB? nth best PG even after he made so much improvement.
