This has got to be one of, if not the worst take I have ever read on this bbs. At this point, I really don't expect to change the mindset of anyone, but remember the guy was hurt. I have a hard time believing any of you are or have been world class athletes. As someone who declined a microfracture surgery @ 29 that was prescribed by the Rockets team doctor at that time, I understand the decision T-Mac had to make. As a continuing player, it was important to him to try to get back to the level he was accustomed to playing at versus just letting his career fall apart while collecting a paycheck. I applaud him for trying to get back to a competitive level where he could compete with the best in the world. As fans, before we just throw the guy away, we should just give him a chance to rehab and see if he is going to get anything back before saying that he won't. If he doesn't, then that's the chance you take with surgery. But if he does get anything back, then the Rockets are a better team for it. And if you people are really that hellbent on getting rid of T-Mac then Yao should already be on his way out of town. Because whether you wanna hear it or not, Yao and his brittle feet plus his inability to dominate guys that are not nearly as big or talented as him won't win the Rockets a championship ring. Leave T-Mac alone!
but anyway , i still think we should keep him ........ specially because we wont get equal value in a trade.
An embarrassing post. Did you watch that game? No "Rocket" has ever quit on us more... Injured or not, NO passion, NO heart, NO intensity. Either play like a man, with pride, or get your lazy ass on the bench... And btw, How many Doctors did he have to go through to find one that would give him the surgery?
Uhhhh Pippen quit on us more, but I wouldnt expect you to know that. The dude was hurting, told the doctors he was hurting, they told him nothing was wrong, so he kept going out there, obviously unable to move. I dont know about you, but I dont have alot of passion or intensity when I am in pain. I don't even know where you get that garbage to be honest. People who dont have heart wont dive into the stands for lose balls or still suit up despite pain. The guy has his faults, but this he quit on the team, he plays without passion is just false.
how about waiting and then admitting.. to losing his passion during this season, after the surgery..?
I know I win when the comeback is "Pippen quit on us more". The rest is hard to read, so I stopped trying... I lose passion when it gets hard...
lookin at that jamario moon video, it isnt hard to see that tmac cant run. its a bit blurry, but it looks like he took a swipe at the ball but didnt get anything. i dont see him quitting on the team. what do you guys want to do? moon was on a break away dunk. you guys expect tmac to foul him hard? coz if you dont fall hard on a play like that, it'd be an 'and 1'. and if tmac fouled him hard, he could end up twisting that knee because moon is running hard and fast. one play and you call him quitting on the team? wow. what a grateful bunch you guys are.
Reinstalling McGrady back into this team certainly isn't the crisis that many make it out to be. Hell, if for nothing else it makes sense from a logical standpoint -- we currently lack a starting SG, he is a starting SG. That said, I don't think it will come to that. I think he definitely gets moved before training camp as the key chip in whatever "big move" it is that we make.
IT WAS THE ENTIRE GAME! Dang man get your facts straight, We are not talking about ONE play. If anyone has not seen the Toronto game in full, you should find it before you post about any of this, It is disgusting to say the least.
Nice summary. I agree. TMac's still enough of an asset to keep around for a little while longer. We're not exactly hovering around at the bottom of league for us to panic ... and we've proven that we can be more than just competitive without him too (we just lacked the consistency ... but still better than a lot of other teams in the league) ... so it won't be a huge disaster even if we waited for him to heal and return and see how it pans out (and in the scenario where it really does't work out - we still have a number of good options available).
Although Tracy is in a contract year, and he could be a much better player than we have seen in the last couple years, I think it is important that we get value. Remember, When Tracy expires we can either A. Re-sign him or B. Let him walk, and get ZERO in return. Not even cap space like many tend to believe ---------------------------------------------------------------- Therefore, we might want to get some longer lasting value/assets... Imo.
Even though this is hyperbole, change "everyone here" to "a few posters here" and it's exactly correct.
