I'm proud of this team

I'm not proud of this team. I'll always be proud to be a Houston Rockets fan, but I can't say that I'd beam with pride in a room full of NBA fans at this point. For all the praise heaped on Morey, he hasn't delivered a whole heck of a lot in terms of winning goes. At the end of the day, isn't that all that matters?

Yao Ming is not an $18MM star anymore. He is the new Mutumbo...and should be used as such. OFF THE BENCH.
Kevin Martin is not a star/closer.
Shane Battier is not a starter.
    etc, etc, etc

I am proud of the players who closed the game. Everyone else who played when Brooks and Martin went out. Still problems with the roster. Plus the referees for the first half of the game are horrendous peices of trash who blew the game for the Spurs absolutely all night long. Nothing they could do against Spurs and refs. Second half got better. After the refs got rid of Brooks and Martin.

    Hey G-Money,

I was at the game and there was a good showing of rockets fans, they were really into the game and had tons of spirit.

The fans that went to the game weren't down on the team.

lol at all these angry and depressed people  . So emotional and weak; so cavemen-like.

OP, you've got the right attitude. Why let these games affect one's mind so much?. 5 stars by the way.

Yes, this is an excellent point. The injuries are concerning now so it's probably not going to get better, but it's not like we have been blown out by horrible teams. I really don't think we are 'worst in the NBA' level our record says we are at this point.

If the Rockets win any of those games those teams could each be:
    5-1
    a pedestrian 3-2
    a weak 3-3
    5-1
    a pedestrian 3-2

...instead, we lost. Each and every time to each and every team. Say we played well enough to win. Say we have the pieces to compete. Say what you want...we've lost five games have won none. We've lost to teams of varying talent levels.

Yes, we have talented players but this team will not compete for a championship...we'd be lucky to win a series in the playoffs. There is no corner to be turned here, it is time to rebuild if we can't move some of our assets for a real star.

Well, sure. But just as you can't simply brush off the Rockets losses with 'what if', nor can you brush off our competition's wins the same way. Either way you slice it we have faced some of the toughest the league has to offer right now. (and your what if record still equals 19-9, which isn't bad either)

Other than that, I don't know that we disagree. What are you arguing here? Do you think the Rockets are the worst team in the NBA? Our record says so, which raises concerns for all the reasons mentioned. But I'm not sure that I consider it so.

In some ways, yes. I think we're the worst team in the NBA. Our team might have the worst problem as far as knowing who they are and what their potential is.

Yao comes and goes. He's doesn't play back to backs...but hey, he might not even play the first game if it's against a real team (San Antonio). When he does play, forget about establishing a rhythm. Just take the 5 minute blocks as you get them. (I say start the guy FOR REAL or bring him off the bench.)

Martin joked in the offseason about dressing up as Melo to appease the fans...lol @ that. Hey Kevin, you are not worthy of dressing up as Melo. Like a 24 hour truck stop, YOU DO NOT CLOSE. Work on that efficiency thing you were supposed to bring to the table and maybe you'll be a decent complimentary piece on day. Maybe not.

Aaron Brooks. The most improved player of the year. How many players have won that honor and gone on to be stars? How many proved to be a fluke or journeyman at best? I don't know, I'm asking here.

    Battier shouldn't be starting.

    Luis Scola is a beast.
