The Rockets have a better chance with winning the next 4 games :grin: I like this defense at the end of games rather than Brooks and Martin unfortunately we didn't have enough offense to get the win
I just don't get why they didn't fight like this in the first 4 games. I was actually into this game despite us losing which is something I couldn't say the first four games. I didn't see the same hustle and effort that I did last season.
I'm not going to take joy in Aaron Brooks getting injured but the rest of this post is correct. These guys get paid millions of dollars, they are SUPPOSED to play with heart, don't give them credit for doing stuff they are supposed to do anyway. They need to play Yao regular minutes and in every game and see what we have, otherwise we're essentially just tanking the season anyway.
i believe this "proud of hard working team" assessment holds and outweighs any arguments that suggest we should be critical because of the dismal record, ONLY BECAUSE 5 GAMES IS NOT ENOUGH for proper assessment and judgment of this team. talk to me at the all-star break, then ill tell you if this team is successful and worthy of the pros according to their record.
So battier decided to turn on this game.. where has all the aggressiveness been for the previous 4 games? slacking? He was not even active on the floor in the pass four games. If AB or Mac had done this, this board would have gone haywire.
Spurs aren't as good as the Lakers, Nugs, and Hornets. Warriors were in another world when we played them.
I appreciate the optimism but 0-5 say's we suck. Last years NBA doormats the Knicks, Nets and Warriors would kick our ass. I miss the JVG era when teams would never score 90 points against us, we need to bring that mindset back.
This board HAS gone haywire. That's what happens when you have an entire offseason's worth of blueballs! The "moral victory" bull**** is soooooo last year. This was supposed to be a year to smash back into the playoffs. Doesn't appear that will be happening now. Would have been nice to at least have a FEW WEEKS of games before the controlled demolition of the Rockets' playoff hopes. Now we're going to have to suffer through the entirety of a lame-duck season before another Houstonless postseason. It's a gross embarrassment.
we dont suck at all...in fact i think the rest of the west know how good we can be...top shelf roster assembled by d-genius and rick is the best of the best when it comes to coaching. a little more time together and we will be rolling...it starts tomorrow with a 20+ point win over minny. yao will be great tomorrow...love the decision to play him in the home game...great decision rick!!!
Perhaps the warriors were in another world because our defense allowed them to? We allowed an offense oriented team to score at will and have layup drills, that goes with all the teams we played so far.
it is a good fight. i enjoyed every bit of the 4th q. but why is martin not in the last play? he is the best shooter in the team. ???
guys, lets struggle earlier in the season then finish the season strong to where we finish just sort of the playoffs in the 9th seed and screw ourselves out of a good pick in the draft.
nothing wrong in being proud of the way the backups played but absolutely no moral victory here, 0-5 sucks and is still unacceptable.
Our defense is poor. Sure. Spurs didn't play well in the 4th qtr. They went away from Ducan and got into home run mentality w/ Ginobili. Defensively, they couldn't figure out how to defend the Smith/Scola PnR on the left block to save their lives until late game. We aren't as bad as the records say, but we are not a contender either.
