Hey I'm glad to hear that you are taking the trip. It sucks to have to have a job you don't like. I've had several. It's great that you can take the money you've earned and do something as monumental as a trip like that. That's about as good as it gets, seriously. It's a very worthwhile endeavor.

Will you be changing careers as well as jobs? Are you still thinking about teaching abroad?

I have been to Azay-le-Rideau, but that was the last in a series of Chateau's I saw in one day. I'll definitely go and see it again, since I will be spending days in the Loire Valley this time I will take my time and enjoy it. I have seen Chambord, but the another one I have never seen is Blois. I will have to make it ther this trip as well.

Are you going soon? Do you have warm clothing? Switzerland is supposed to be incredibly beautiful. I've never been there.

I lived there for 2 years. (my last 2 years of Boarding SChool for highschool)

Good times. Switzerland is my 2nd favorite country after the US.

It's amazingly beautiful. I never got tired of walking from class to class (different buildings) and starring off at the mountains and the valley below.

My dorm was a 5 min walk from the ski lifts....truly amazing.

The alps are gorgeous, I love the cities below in the valley. The country is truly like no other.

I will be going right when summer starts....

I've been to the Jungfrau region of Switzerland ... more specifically Grindelwald (where the Eiger is). Pretty awesome.

Personally, wife and I are still more into Europe than other destinations, but as DaDakota mentioned very expensive now.

Still, I would like to hit Ireland, France, Greece, Prague, Italy again, Spain, Scotland (and some England) again.

    SamFisher -

In Siem Reap, eat at Madame Butterfly's. Great grub, especially after you have spent a day hiking through the coolest ruins in the world.

Oh, and make sure you have $20 bills (untorn!!!!) for customs in Cambodia. They wont take ripped US bills and if you try to convert money they screw you royally.

Angkor Watt is amazing.....esp the outer temples.

South America would be next on my list, I think. I've done Europe, Egypt, Israel, and Central America. Have always wanted to do Macchu Picchu, Galapagos, and more recently Argentina, Chile, etc.

This site has some good resources: http://www.gonomad.com/

I'm going to France this year too, in the summer. A cousin of mine is actually getting married (a rarity in France nowadays), so we'll time the trip for then. But, I'll visit my family in Vendee and go see my sister in Zurich. Hopefully, we can take a dip into Italy too or something. I'd like to do something like SE Asia, but can't justify the cost (I live for free in France with all the relatives) nor find the time (family all over the place that I've been woefully behind in visiting).

I've always heard that French people are rude. I work with a number of them and they seem fine.

Germany kicks ass. The people are awesome and the beer is ausgezeichnet.

Malta is a very beutiful country. I used to live there back in the 80's.

Not so keen on Rome. Too dirty for my tastes, and I hate the damn mopeds. Although the Vatican is an amazing places to see....

Dude, I would love to if I could. I love Zarmatt. Beautiful place. That the place where this bozo made whoopie for the first time.

Have you been before? San Fermin is, without a doubt, hands down, the greatest party on the planet.

Spending a week in Maine this May. Acadia Nat'l Park and Bar Harbor.

Looking at spending a week in Austria/Bavaria later this year.
