Like this thread. It's sad to say but there will always be T-Mac haters. It's also sadder that some of them (I hate to say most) are Rockets supporters. People here have been talking about effort all the while now. A player, heavily injured, not yet prepared, honest about his condition, suits up and almost gets a triple-double his first game and gets a triple-double the second one and people have been praising him like he liberated the country. And now, the pain catching up, people condemn him like he's the devil. I too am frustrated but I have seen what he can do. He carried us throughout the playoffs dammit. He lead us to the 22 wins. Now, when he's in real pain, people are wanting to trade him. If these are the kinds of fake fans that would support the rockets, then trade him. In fact, when a player makes a mistake, when he makes a blunder, when he is injured, trade him. Trade everyone for pete's sake. I would trade real fans for fakies anyday.

Get injured like he is and let's see if you haters can play. It's not about the money anymore. It's how you stick through the tough times. For better or for worse (And I don't mean marriage), I am a real Rockets supporter. Even if limping and playing with a broken body currently recuperating, I am a real Tracy McGrady supporter and I also see, so are most of you who posted in this thread.

It's sad that we here are arguing over regret that we stick to our players even thorugh tough times. Some of us here are only concerned about the winning no matter what. I only hope that we win as one unit and with all our players helping one another. We need Tracy. He's still our best player.

If Deke does not want to join us, fine, we don't want to support him either. I'd settle for a compentent backup center for Yao rather than a legendary shotblocker. If he will not join us anymore, I thank him for his contributions with the team and hope he does well lingering with the regret that he almost got a ring playing with the chanpionship team...us :) .

Happy Holidays everyone. Stay positive. We'll see this through:D.

McGrady will always be my favorite player of all-time. I don't care what many people say about him because, we all know that when it comes the playoffs it was all him. You saw it two years ago when he put it all on him and broke down in the interview.

Take your rest T-Mac and let your knee heal...we'll manage for now.

players always have their lows and ups, especially when they get injured.T-MAC is really a talented player, all he needs is a great mentor (and I strongly believe this man is not Rick),who can inspire the heart of a hero in him.I think this is what the team's manager should consider as his greatest responsibility now, instead of trading T-MAC for some others.
as to fans of rockets, please don't bash T-MAC too hard, because what he needs now is strong support.

how 'bout letting me try? i used to play ball, but don't have the lift and can no longer lift weight, but i will try hard, real hard. oh dear les, why can't you let me "earn" $20mils a year? heck, i'd take half of it.

mcgrady and "effort" in the same sentence? lol. no, not lately 4sho.

Supporting the Rockets would mean supporting each player that wears that jersey. I really haven't seen that from you, or many other people here.

I really am tired of hearing the complaints about each individual player. It's all sounding like a teacher from Charlie Brown now.

Also, the thread was obviously sarcasm.

Thats the real spirit! I was for the Rockets in the 90's era, I didn't become for the Raptors when Hakeem went there...

Really, is that is in the fan's handbook, where can I get a copy?

Tired of hearing complaints on an internet message board, a place for fans to discuss their favorite team, which includes criticism...

Yeah, I hear ya, I am tired about people whining about fan's discussing the Rockets critically.

Bunk. It means you want the best for the team. It means you want to see the best out of each player.

It does NOT mean you blindly go along and support players or coaches or GMs if they become detrimental to the team. When we got Stromile, I hoped for the best, but did not want him to remain on the team when he demonstrated that he was a lost cause. I hoped for the best with Mike James, but wanted him gone when he proved to be a selfish ballhogging bum. I loved Rudy T, but knew it was time when he became Steve's doormat. When we traded for Artest, I hoped for the best and thus far and pleased with what we have in him. I wasn't a fan of Barkley before we obtained him, but I enjoyed his tenure on the team. If the Rockets trade for a Zach Randolph type cancer, I will remain a fan of the Rockets, but will need the player to prove himself to me and the organization. If he doesn't, I will want him gone.

Fans care. Fans should be critical when circumstances call for it. Should Detroit Lions fans be sheep and not be upset with their organization? They will still likely be wearing Lions sweatshirts when they're retired, but they demonstrated against Matt Millen.

If a player starts pissing on the fans, if a team quits during the season to tank starting in February, if we hire the equivalent of Isiah Thomas to run the show, I reserve the right to be pissed and angry. Because I care more about this franchise than any other in sports. I will still care about this franchise more than any other if they go another 10 years without winning in the playoffs.

Fans like myself are upset at McGrady because we've watched him progressively get worse about being a professional. We've seen true pros like Drexler and aren't fooled by Tracy. The closest analogy would be parents watching their gifted child blow off school and get Cs because they'd rather be messing around with their Xbox.

I, as a fan, won't support any player with faked injury.

I believe Hakeem faked an injury according to the organization for contract purposes (if I can recollect correctly), but at least he gave us 2 rings
