What you mean new Russ? This is the same Russ. Same old Russ. 2-3 months of smart basketball doesn’t change a 12 year career.
The poster makes some good points about how Harden and BMac work well together...but not to the point of replacing Westbrook with BMac. BMac's game reminds me of Gerald Green's game...and both need improvement with their defense. Hopefully with their younger age, they can improve on defense. As for Westbrook, I have been surprised and pleased to see how well his game is after Covid-19. Even though he was asymptomatic, I have read about the lingering symptoms after the virus is again negative. Fatigue is the number one after-virus symptom. He has played well, but I agree he is not driving to the basket as much as he did before the NBA stoppage. The after virus fatigue last 3-4 weeks, so lets wait before we judge Westbrook until he is back to full strength. It takes a lot of stamina to go into a crowded paint like he does. I'm extremely happy with 80-85% strength Westbrook at this time...better than what I was expecting.
He's only played 3 games, but its true he has not shot it well. His TS% is 48.7 which is horrific. He has a 2-1 assist to turnover ratio which is nice. Incredibly tiny sample size though.
