I am just as worried about his injuries as his suspension possiblities and mental breakdowns, especially when you get close to the playoffs. The Rockets aren't exceptional in providing the best prevention and quick recovery for their players.

He missed 25 games, last year. Injuries for all 25 or a suspension for some of it?

We gave up a bag of used basketballs and a 6 pack of tall boys for him.

    I'll take that risk anyday.

Artest does have his share of problems and trouble. I don't for one second think next season would be any different. he may actup or get suspended for few games.

I don't care, as long as he is ready and can play during the playoffs. his attitude and thug like attitude is exactly what we needed. he brings excitement to the rockets. fans and non-fans will be watching rockets games.

Teams used to think us soft and weak. Tmac and Yao brings toughness but not fear. artest will bring fears to them accompany by Tmac and Yao.

which team will ever get the men to double team tmac or Yao ever?

The west has its own trio now, Boston!!!

I think Artest is the one guy who could help this team more than anyone else. He brings much needed offense to the 3, 4 position, he can definitely create his own shot, and he has the aggressiveness that can spark the rest of this team. I can see McGrady feeding off his energy, especially during the playoffs.

The one reservation I have is his supposed desire to join Kobe Bryant and the Lakers in the long run. But even if he ends up being a one-year rental, it's not like it's costing the Rockets any of its current core players.

Given the price that we're paying, Artest is definitely worth the gamble. And the payoff could be huge.

Seriously you can tell Artest is a nice guy off-court, he does things for his community/ charity games.. etc. The reason why he cause many fight is because he play the game with such intensity (when he's feeling it), he get under peoples skin and like to piss them off. If you watch his game in these recent years, he play much smarter and don't have off-court issues.

I like the trade, I think Artest is a guy that the Rocket needs. I will miss Greene tho :( I hope he doesn't come back and haunt good luck the guy though.

I like this trade a lot, but I think Battier has to be traded now, he's not really close to the definition of sixth man, Sixth Man are usually great offensive players and not a big fan of defense, that's pretty much the opposite of Battier.

To the OP, I don't blame you for having concerns but don't let that keep you from enjoying the moment. Morey performed another kind of magic to get a really talented guy on the team.

Think about the possibilities if it works out. I am sure that keeping the core of guys in the locker room will help curb Artest's more... tempestuous side. Plus, I don't remember him ever having troubles when his team is winning. I could be wrong, but I think this team will continue to win, maybe even more so than last year.

Someone here said that winning builds chemistry. If that is true then I think Ronron will be fine.

I complete disagree, I think this completely opens Battier up. To me Battier has always had the mentality of a 6th man. The guy who doesn't care where he lines up when he plays or how. This takes the pressure off him to do the one thing he isn't great at scoring in large volume.

Battier can come off the bench and play the 2,3 and 4 spots. His minutes shouldn't diminish. Between him and Artest they will always have a lock down defender guarding the opponents best player, and just imagine them on the court together double teaming a player.

Frankly i think this move frees Battier to be his best in being the ultimate role player and teammate. He doesn't have the pressure of being the 3rd guy now.

We now have most of our players set up to play their ideal roles.

If the rockets had enough great offensive players than I would want Battier to stay but since the rockets don't have that there is no reason for him to continue his career as a Rocket for the time being, I just think the rockets are not good enough offensively to keep him, Rockets need a better PG to replace Alston, with some fundamental skills

Artest is a changed man after coached by Adelman. If JVG is still our coach right now, I would be dead worried. Adelman is an unbelievable coach and he
has no quarrels or problems with any type players (even with notorious players).

Takes the sting out of losing Yao last year.

I cheer for somebody who is involved in the community, and I cheer for somebody who is involved in a lot of charity events. If anything is wrong with Artest, its the fact that he is being plagued by media, just like McGrady. Media like to talk crap more than truth, they like to hide the truth. Artest has been dumped on that train unfortunately, dumped on the same train as Vernon Maxwell, and all you'll ever hear from him is how bad a person he is.

There are a lot of websites out there that show the truth behind media. BTW, kids around the world love artest.

Give the guy a chance, he is a good person, just without good direction. The media will do anything for payday. Articles focued on BSing and Dissing is certainly a lot more entertaining than articles focused on truth.
