For the haters, expect Mario numbers to drop as Defensive Coordinators see that you can't block Super with a TE or a RB. He will be doubled in the next two. Of course that means Amobi, N.D. or T.J. will get theirs instead; in other words Mario will silently make the entire Defense better.
Now its not even close. Only .5 sacks behind the NFL lead, Reggie Bush has been a non factor both yrs, and is pretty much a bust. Vince is a work in progress, and Mario is an unstoppable best who will lead the league in sacks. What a draft, a starting RT, all-pro MLB and DE, and a very good TE.
In this three way race, I have Mario taking the lead right now with Vince falling back. Reggie Bush is still on the blocks.
1.Pick, Mario Williams- Pro Bowl season 2.Pick, Reggie Bush- 531 rushing yard, 4 rushing tds (Bust) 3.Pick, Vince Young- 16 Ints, 66.9 passer rating (Bust) Texans made the right pick!!!!
why wait til next wednesday to name mario williams the Nfl player of the week? let's make it official now
i love the way mario handled himself on the postgame interview on NFL network.. (locker room speech didn't seem genuine, but it's hard to be that way when you have cameras being shoved in your face while you're supposedly giving a private talk to your team, so i don't blame him for that)
Right??! He was composed and thoughtful. He gave respect to Manning and when given the opportunity to gloat when asked about Vince and Reggie, he took the high road.
It's pretty cool to see good things happen for Mario. He took a lot of shots for something he had no control over, and the expectations placed on him were very high.
What a freaking game. 7 tackles to go along with those sacks. At 22, the guy is a freaking monster. Im soaking up every second of this. Freaking awesome.
I think that all three will eventually be solid NFL players. In the end, it could wind up being that the debate didn't matter and that all three turn out to be great.
