This thread is entertaining. I hope it keeps going. It like we're rehashing the last two years of dumb threads all over again.

No one (that I've noticed at least - I got bored with this thread about page 15) has mentioned that Mario had a bad foot last year. He sat out most practices and, while I've never had plantar howeveryouspellit, I'm sure it made it very difficult for him to push off.

LOL, your panties in a wad?

I heard Vince was found staring at a can of frozen orange juice because it said "concentrate."

I'm no VY fan, but that is so mean.

    I'll admit though, I LOL'ed.

Honestly, I never thought I would see the day when guys like this admitted they were wrong. It's happening more and more.

Except for those buffoons on MNF….

I only watched a few minutes of MNF last night, but in the brief moment I caught it, the announcers were talking about what a drop off Aaron Stecker was from Reggie Bush.

Let's see...Stecker rushed 20 times for 100 yards. That’s a 5 ypc average. Better than Reggie’s career average of 3.7 ypc. Stecker also had a 17 yard run. Reggie’s longest run of his CAREER is 22 yards. Yeah, what a drop off….

Ric's commentary on Peter King is side-splitting funny. I could stand a repeat performance.

I remember people comparing that draft to the Dream,Bowie,MJ draft. Boy are those guys wrong. So to all those VY fans who thought the Texans were idiots for drafting Super Mario:

I respectfully disagree with you on this point. By the time Kubiak showed up, Carr had basically gone fetal over in a corner sucking on his thumb. He looked like a QB in name only. I think that Kubiak in his hubris, felt that if he could ressurect the career of Jake Plummer, he could most certainly work miracles with DC. Bad, bad mistake on his part and it led him to pass on very good young QBs in the 2006 draft. In spite of his maneuvering to get Schaub, today the QB position is still uncertain as Schaub has proven to be somewhat fragile and there are legitimate concerns that if this continues to happen to him next year, then the Texans may be back looking for that franchise QB...again.

True, but in 2006, I doubt we would have taken Cutler who has had the most success thus far. Young and Leinart are nice young talents, but they arent any better than Schaub right now...and really, there is no guarantee that they will be. Basically, had we drafted a QB in that draft, we'd pretty much be sitting in the same boat. At least we have a pro bowl calibur DE to show for it.

No, had we drafted a QB in that draft, Sage would have been the starting QB until the kid was ready to take over which would have been just fine in my book. And as for that "pro bowl caliber DE", I find all of this talk of MW making the Pro Bowl to be slightly humorous because he's had 3 or 4 games (out of 13) where he's finally showed a pulse. Folks in Houston are so anxious for him to finally justify his being the no. 1 pick in 2006 that they are grasping at anything he does well as proof that he has finally arrived. I say, let's see him do more of this in year 3 before we start reserving his ticket to Honolulu.

I'll be more gracious and say I think he will end up in Honolulu this season. I'm extremely happy with how well he's played.

Nah, 9.5 sacks through 13 games is terrible!!! He's got nothing on any of the other 2006 draft picks!!! WHAAA!

Come on, you have to admit 9.5 sacks is pretty impressive for a 22 year old 2nd year player. Not to mention it is a Texan's record.

Yeah, just because he's tied for 4th in the AFC in total sacks (2 behind the leader) doesn't mean he should go to the Pro Bowl or anything...

But we should reserve Honolulu tickets for 1st year QB's with a sub 67 QB rating that threw 12 TD's and 13 INT's. I get it.

If anyone showed be grasping at straws to justify 1st round draft picks, it should be the teams that picked 2nd and 3rd.
