Next year, when you're stumbling around West Campus wasted late at night, you'll laugh about this. It's no big deal. Jim Rome once said, "If you're not cheating, you're not trying." Oh, and nobody outside of high school gives two sh*ts about the National Honor Society. Also, Plan II will delay your graduation a couple of semesters probably. But, I'm sure you'll find the classes very interesting.
"hmmm....on second thought, suicide is always an acceptable alternative." NO IT IS NOT. Do not think about that. Life goes on. There is always TSU.
Wait a minute... are you trying to say that people in high school take honor society seriously? Mine was a joke.
Qwerty, Forget it ever happened. That's the best advice. You can't change it now, and I doubt UT cares. My remedy is this weekend either find some friends locally or drive to Nawlins and drinkall your problems away while watching UT win(hopefully). Btw, good luck at UT. It is an outstanding public school. Do you have any ideas on your major? I'm currently a broadcast journalism junior myself, and a big sports fan. I want to become a sportscaster when I graduate in the fall of 2004. My advice on college, do the job with the least amount of work possible if you can succeed that way, and just take in all the other stuff(parties, alcohol, sporting events, live music, concerts). I love UT because not only am I getting a great education, I value sports highly and they have the best all around athletic programs in the country. Personally, I graduated HS with a 4.4(out of 5) GPA, 1190 SAT, and top 5% in my high school class from a highly competitive high school in Katy Taylor, and used the top 10 percent rule to get in to pre-journalism(which is very tough to do at UT). Good luck to you and if you are a UT freshman next fall, welcome to the Longhorn fraternity, and HOOK EM'.
and so did Steve Francis..and me..and look how good we all turned out...there aint no shame in starting your college career at a JUCO..
Did I read this wrong or did you go to Spring High? qwerty - don't worry man. Just get your goofy older brother to break into the admissions building at the college you sent the scholarship to and clean it up.
Sonny, Might I suggest you tell Josh Beckett, who is from Spring, that he is supposed to be a big league ace because he got rocked bad his first start against the Phillies monday, and had blister trouble all last year. I remember my high school team playing against him in high school actually, plus you guys had Wardell Starling until he decided to transfer to Elkins because of their baseball prowess. Its a nice school with good athletics.
Before Josh, our school was known as the "Marching Band" school. I know my freshman year in 1993 they were the national champs. And then they one state the next year I think. I liked the school, but it has gone downhill lately.
I meant to say *won* not *one*. I also forgot about Ben Gay. He was a man among boys on the football field. Too bad he isn't making it in the pros.
Fatty Fatbastard, you are a b*stard. Seriously, this guy is actually worked up about this. This guy is going to be a well established, contributing member of society one day. Suicide isn't funny. I don't mean to get preachy, but this calls for it. Lay off the poor fella. Hang in there Qwert, and if you need help, this site for some reason will help just about any cause. Just ask. Don't take life too seriously.
Don't worry. I'm not suicidal or anything. I'm just really scared right now. One of my teachers took it upon herself to fight for me, and I really appreciated it. My friends know something is wrong, even though I won't tell them the details. Their support, plus all of your kind words, have been good for me. My teacher sent a letter to the superintendent telling her that I ama good kid and that it is not right for them to make a big deal out of it. I don't know. I just can't help but feel worried though. I can't sleep and I have a constant queasy feeling. I lost my appetite and have to force myself to eat. The principal said he would wait to decide my punishment until all of the facts are in, whatever that means. I guess they are checking all of my applications looking for slip ups. Its the feeling that everything is out of my hands that gets me more than anything else, kind of like waiting for the executioner. You all have no idea how much your words have helped ease my pain. Thank you and please hope for the best.
qwerty, For whatever reasons, school administrators turn into the biggest pricks in the universe during any kind of investigation. It may be because they're always investigating something, and by the end of the school year, they've heard every excuse imaginable. So they turn into evil SOBs even when they get an issue that doesn't warrant such an attitude. More than likely, they'll review your case and decide that it's no big deal. But they'll put you through an emotional ringer before then (perhaps to teach you a lesson). Next time (which I guess will be college), don't wait until the last second. But if a similar situation arises, ask a school official to sign in the counselor's place. They should be prepared for such a scenario already.
Subtomic is right. Don't sweat it, go down to Mickie D's and get yourself a supersized helping of 'Freedome' fries. DD
