I think that as long as his team is winning a lot and his contributions matter, MJ won't go ape****. Minny sucked last year and he probably felt he could help more than Foye could, that's why he was mad. But if he's contributing in those 25 mins he gets, and the Rockets are winning, then I don't think he'll pull a Minny. At least, I hope he doesn't.
Why not? I'd expect 4 guards in the line-up: Francis, James, Wells, and McGrady. I can see giving spot minutes to Brooks and Head (if he's around). James probably will not sit for Brooks' (he's a late 1st round rookie) or Head's (James is practically as good a shooter) sake. McGrady will spend some of his time at small forward. Two guard slots can give an average of 28 minutes to 3.5 players. How much James (or anyone) gets will be the result of how well he plays compared to everyone else. And, one thing I'll point out is that he's a better 3-point shooter than his main rivals, Wells and Francis, while not giving up much in the rest of his game.
Because it was well known jvg hated any type of bravado talk and frowned upon it constantly while he was here...always saying, we haven't won anything yet, blah blah blah.
Mike James (right before he got traded for Rafer) said something along the lines of "we are the best team in the nba" JVG was not too happy. Then we got Rafer, he got injured, t-mac as well, then Yao, Stro, Sura, Barry etc. etc.
