    LP,

Unless things have changed, the processor doesn't matter. An ATX case means that the motherboard has to be an ATX style. In other words, there are some ATX MBs that are for P4s and other ATX MBs that are for AMD.

So maybe what the website is talking about is the power supply. Are power supplies generally for P4 and AMD or can a power supply be used with both?

Power supply can be used with both types of processors. Again, ATX is the style/fit of the power supply/MB and has nothing to do with the processor.

If you want, post the link and Ill look at it.

Whatever MB you put in that case, just make sure its an ATX board (it wont matter whethers its an Intel or AMD board).

As far as case fans, you are probably asking the wrong guy. However, that case does have a 400W PS, which is pretty big, which means you can plug more than one fan in and probably be OK.

Id ask R2K or DoD about the fans though.

    ok...

Thermal grease, doesnt matter..if it is marketed for computers..it is good enough.
Spread a light coating over the mating surfaces of the processor and heatsink.

Power supply: Power supplies will work with either processor. When they say P4 ready, it just means that it has enough power to run it correctly.
400 watts is more than enough for you.

Fans: there is no such thing as too many fans. It is always better to have more air circulation than not enough.

With the amount of devices I have running in my computer,I only have 3 (including the power supply fan)

Putting it together: It really isnt that tough..just follow the directions that can be had at any number of sites online.

I'll be back online in the morning..if you have more...ask away.

    Here's another:

I received my copper CPU shim for my AMD processor and it didn't come with anything but the shim. It has a thin coating of blue platic material on one side. Should I peel that off or not?

Hey, I was wanting to know what you think about the mobo combo by just reading about it. I tried a ggogle search for reviews but nobody has reveiwed this board type so just by reading its description, what do you think?

    Lil Pun,

I'm not an expert on AMD processors/motherboards but my suggestion to you would be to post your questions on a computer hardware related BBS & I'm sure more people could help you out with that.

As I've mentioned earlier in the thread, 'Tom's Hardware Guide' has a bbs for discussing these topics... Perhaps you might want to check it out & post your questions there.

Looks like a pretty decent board.

The only thing that I don't like about it is the SiS chipset. Personally, I always stick with intel chipsets. I have found SiS and Via chipsets aren't as reliable/stable. However, others I am sure will disagree with me and say they have had no problems with them.

In the end, I would go for it if I were you.
