I hope Silas is paying attention.

Less iso, more overloads, more PnR, more off ball movement and more screening off ball.

Tried to find the "easiest" visual. This guy might not be the best coach in the world, but he does understand the concepts. I dont really understand what Silas has been doing this year honestly. Last season it was easier to spot the philosophy in practice. Hoping he's just farting around until the regular season starts. Crossing fingers - the personnel here should be able to pull it off.

I’m not sure what your point is or what you’re trying to debate? I simply said his offense will keep us in good position for good draft position. You want to “compete”, which I don’t disagree with but going back to the thread, you probably have the wrong offensive system, probably the wrong coach.

Win and give the young guys experience is absolutely what I am hoping for. But Winning with Wall will not happen.

All preface by saying I'm all for this--at least it's a starting point for this team if Silas is wanting to implement a 5 out offense. That being said:

Our designated point guard, KPJ, needs to DEVELOP into a better PnR ball handler.

2020-2021 stats for KPJ in PnR situations:

    PPP: .77
An elite number here would be something like the 1.19 PPP that Harden put up last year. Steph Curry, 1.13. Luka, 1.07.

    FG%: 37.8%
I don't have to tell you that this isn't ideal. Trae Young's FG% in the same scenario last year was about 43%. Sexton, 45.3%.

Our starting power forward, Wood, needs to improve into a better PnR partner.

2020-2021 stats for Wood in PnR situations where he's the roll man:

    PPP: 1.18
    TO Freq%: 9.5%
    Scoring Freq: 54.8%

The PPP, it's not bad when you compare it to, say, Clint Capela (PPP 1.20 last year) but turnover frequency and scoring frequency are not where you want it to be. For comparison sake, Olynyk in a Rockets uniform generated 1.20 PPP with a 6.6 Turnover Freq%. Kevin Martin Jr. had a 1.38 PPP in the same PnR scenario with a 2.2% turnover freq% to go with a 71.1% scoring freq%. Tate had a 1.30 PPP, 5.4% TO Freq%, and a 62.5% scoring freq%.

Now all is not lost nor am I saying Wood sucks because the numbers he put up in Detroit in the same situation (PnR Roll Man) were beastly:

    PPP 1.50
    To Fre%: 4.4%
    Scoring Freq: 73%

The point guards he played with in Detroit (Rose, Reggie Jackson, Brandon Knight) are more accustomed to running the PnR and helped Wood by being better shooters than KPJ.

I have hope that KPJ can develop and improve because, after all, this would be his first full year as a starting point guard so there's plenty of room for improvement.

Might as well get the guy in the video to coach the Rockets. He might be able to do a better job.

Honestly the offense looked fine tonight - they just couldn't hit shots but it was creating looks.

    It was a mess.

    Rotations were pure ass.

And Porter was too timid and deferential to Green and even Augustin.

Green was epitome of inefficiency. Again.

    Not sure what you're watching.

I appreciate your analysis. Did Sengun do well with the starters tonight?

This group would be better off with Kelvin Sampson at the helm

Sengun played well but everything was too clunky and messy.

He and Porter started to feel it in 2nd half.

Kid is super talented with high IQ. Just going to have to adjust his game because he lacks length and explosiveness.

Wood, Porter, Sengun were only real highlights tonight.

Just not always at same time.

The bread and butter for this team is pick n roll with Scoot and C Wood. Scoot has to get more comfortable with it. He passed up on a lot of scoring opportunities tonight. We should take advantage of the midrange as a whole.

Also passed up on open 3's.

Got to let fly, especially when he and Wood were the best 3P shooters tonight.

And it was not even close.

KPJ, the starting PG isn't running play
Wood handling the ball too much and he's bad passing the ball and fumble a lot
Sengun is good but he needs to learn to make the easy pass
    i wish Wall is playing

Rockets definitely need a vet playmaker in starting 5.

Porter will get there but he needs help right now.

Wall is not the answer IMO.

He wasn't the answer last season either, Porter and Wood (as well as Tate, KJ, Olynyk) improved with him out of lineup.

Green played a very good 2nd half. I feel like you are expecting these guys to be vets and not 19 year olds
