Yes I love to see him penetrate more but I worry about his health. Even he do not drive to inside he still help team a lot.
So If he could hit his jumper I'm ok for him do not cut in.

We really need him on the court.

Well, with our bench situation being what it is (as in the worst bench in the league), we will need the starting five on their game and then some come the playoffs.

I don't think they are there yet, particularly with Yao's conditioning not being up to par, but hopefully they will continue to make progress with the few games left. Yao will need to get used to playing nearly 40 minutes a night, and he has to be productive on both ends of the court during that many minutes. We can't have him getting into turnover mode when he's tired.

I feel bad for our starters, but we have zero depth and it will show against the good teams in the playoffs. Management has done a terrible job over the years in building up our depth and giving Yao and McGrady enough ammunition to play deep into the postseason, but we will worry about that in the offseason.

For now, let's just get past the first round and I am a happy camper...

Tmac is the leader of the team...

TMac needs to play 48 mins... every game... and shoot over 45%

if he can do that we will go a long way...

if however he gives us a customary 9 for 27 shooting... in too many playoff games we wont go far...

no one should be letting him off if he does so....

No question this is the type of play Tmac has to bring every night in the playoffs for the team to get to the next level. This is the type of play that guys like Wade and Kobe bring. Tmac needs to do the same. By him attacking the rim it really puts a lot of pressure on the other team. We need Tmac in 'attack-mode." And that means looking for his OWN shot and scoring points. If Tmac and Yao get rolling things then tend to fall into place. Other guys on the team will get opportunities. But if Tmac or Yao are having problems scoring, things tend to bog down.

    Tmac: 32pts 7rbs, 8ast
    Yao: 27pts 12rbs

Those are the kinds of numbers we need to see CONSISTANTLY in the playoffs for this team to win. And then as a bonus if they get numbers like Alston had last night, then all the better. :)

I guess these last few games has shown us that Tmac really was coasting for the latter part of the season. He's certainly turned it up a notch and has beeng getting to the line and averaging 33 ppg his last three games. Tmac's playoff ready. The Jazz should be afraid.

I don't think it's a question of him realizing he needs to do this, he has to know this. He says it himself, JVG says it, and as long as the other team thinks he will pose a major driving/scoring threat, it opens up the assist opportunities that make the team click.

I will always believe he is consciously wisely minimizing the injury opportunities during the early-mid part of the regular season. As a fan it's frustrating, but it's all about the playoffs. Besides his back, I'm surprised his chicken legs haven't just snapped already.

as cato13 said and others recognize as well,

this is what TMac does. He starts revving up his extra cylinders around this time of the year.

Actually, D-Fish has had pretty good success defending T-Mac if I'm not mistaken...

No doubt about it! Be prepared to see T-Mac take over this Utah series. I wonder who he'll dunk on in this series? I'll be in the Toyota Center the first two games and I know it's gonna be LOUD!!

Yeah it's great seeing Tmac penetrating deep into the flank side of the other team's soft zone, exposing their underlying really weak ****. With Yao to complement and double up, we will really be watching some hardcore action! :p

it may be a small sample and he has never won a playoff series but tmac is a phenom in the playoffs. He was unreal with the Magic and very good with us in 04. Him going to the hole is great, if he gets the jumper going is is LIGHTS OUT.

Ok ok, he was fantastic, But what he did with Orlando against he Pistons was ridiculous. I have a feeling he has been saving up his body for the playoffs and agianst a team like the j*zz, where he can play less defense, he could REALLY light it up if his jumper is going good.

just fantastic? i thought his dallas series was overall better than the piston series b/c he shut down a superstar on the other team. he dominated every aspect of the game v. dallas. though offensively, he was better v. detroit

    I must agree...

T-Mac was fantastic against Dallas, but vs Detriot he was Video game-ish that was marvelous

And one other thing, if any of you remember, Tayshaun Prince slowed down Tmac just enough for the Pistons to climb back in that Magic-Pistons series.

Whereas against Dallas, it was more of the team's inability to get Yao more shots, and Mike James, Bob Sura, David Wesley and Jon Barry ALL choking at the same time.

if yao had stay on the floor, he would get more shots.

even right now, as recent shown, he still has to avoid stupid fouls and stay on the floor

Reviewing Kobe's 50pt game with only 1 assist....

I'd much rather have tma'cs 40pt game with 10 assists or even 32pts with 7 assists.

More in the assist column, please. And More W's in the Win/Loss column, please.

Tmac's production is amazing right now. Sure it's not a triple double like say
    16 points 11 assists and 11 rebounds....

but despite not hitting the official mark for the triple double,
I'd rather take 20+ more points and spare a few rebounds.

    40pts 10 assists 8 rebounds?
    32pts 7 assists 8 rebounds?
    30pts 10 assists 5 rebounds?
    27pts 8 assists 5 rebounds?

    i luuuuuuuv this kinda tmac
