It may be good in terms not dragged on and now we can focus on other targets while all the attention is still on LeBron.
My dream scenario. Spot on across the board. Butler is younger , from the area. Would fall right in line.
No idea if it will actually happen or not. I can't imagine the Wolves would want to begin rebuilding if he decides to leave, so they may like our quality vets plus some picks. Just theorizing, but lets say Melton looks like a quality player mid-way into the season, so he turns in to a pretty good asset. So the trade looks like Gordon, Ariza, Melton and picks at the deadline. As long as you've got some guard depth, that could work. The goal for the Rockets should now shift to accumulating assets, which may just be resigning their own free agents to reasonable deals.
Very strange sentiment. I like going to the Finals, I like winning championships. If we keep the team as-is this summer, sure we'll have a shot, but everything will have to go our way against GS. This team hasn't been to the Finals. We lost and have to improve this summer.
On a side note, I'm glad the Rich Paul and Maverick Carter circus isn't coming to town as well. I know everybody loves the King, but his court is full of yes-men enablers who allow LeBron's diva part to come out. I'm glad Morey won't have to accommodate any of these goons with crony jobs and outlandish demands. There's a reason Cleveland and Miami got tired of his entourage.
Here’s where I’m at. I never thought LBJ was coming to Houston after reading about our cap situation and knowing how difficult it would be to unload Anderson’s contract. If Morey can’t resign Capela and CP3 we are basically starting over... again! The fact is, Morey has been the GM for 11 years. Either he gets it done or he doesn’t. He’ll, Magic Johnson, not known for his smarts, might be on the verge of bringing in 2 elite FA’s in just over 1 year as GM. While Morey deserves credit for making some good moves, he’s also missed out on a lot of good ones. Not to mention giving a big contract to a player like Anderson was a joke. Also, he’s given up a lot of draft picks and left he team with no cap space to sign anymore elite FA’s. If he can’t keep what we had last year and make improvements then he deserves criticism.
the hindsight angle is a joke. the significant moves/steps that got the rockets to where they are at now were all necessary, no matter if you agree with it or not. It doesn't change after the fact and when things change
I do feel regret that Clutch won't get a chance to cover Lebron with his media pass. That would have been GREAT!!!
The Rockets need players focused on the game of basketball. LeBron is a 34-year-old Hollywood starlet now.
