Congratulations on getting married for a reason other than unwanted pregnancy!

If you ever want/need marriage advice, just ask.

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who posted on this thread for all the congratulatory well wishes prior to our matrimony (and of course, the rep points didn't hurt either - lol). A heartfelt THANKS to all of you!

And so a new chapter in my (our) life begins... We just returned to Houston from a glorious week in San Antonio, where we soaked up a lot of history about this beautiful state we live in.

Upon arriving at the Wyndham La Cascada Resort, the views from our massive one bedroom deluxe suite were astounding. We had views of the famous River Walk and the beautiful Wyndham courtyard from our private 5th floor balcony...where we also consummated the marriage a little too early!

Now to the most memorable day of my life. It starts by being surrounded by loved ones, the day of our wedding. We were married on the small heart-shaped Marriage Island right on a quaint portion of the River Walk, where the first service was conducted in 1691. For those of you who want more history on this magical place visit: http://www.marriageisland.com/about/

From there, we held the most incredible private reception we've ever experienced on the patio of La Ramblas, located directly in front of Marriage Island. I must say that the service and hospitality we received from waitress, Roxy, and manager, Richard, were second to NONE. From the complimentary champagne upon arrival to the amazing array of desserts (also on the house), this was the best meal we have ever had. I recommend La Ramblas to anyone going to San Antonio. BTW, Dick's Last Resort will never hold a candle to this place.

And speaking of candles, I'd also like to mention another 'must-see' in San Antonio. We visited San Fernando's Cathedral, which is the oldest, continuously functioning religious community in the state of Texas - built between 1738 and 1750. For those seeking more on this extravagant site, please go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathedral_of_San_Fernando

Among various other sites along the River Walk, last but not least we visited The Alamo, which I'm certain many of you have already learned the history of this ancient Texas landmark. Remember The Alamo...and for those of you who may have forgotten The Alamo, here's one last link: http://www.thealamo.org

Sorry for the long-winded post...this is the happiest I've been since the Rockets won back-to-back titles. I'm so glad to be home though...the worst part about the trip was that we were in San Antonio, amongst a bunch of Spurs fans. Boo!

    Go Rockets!

P.S. In closing, I will try to post some pictures once I figure out how to. Once again THANK YOU for all your posts and please have a wonderful and safe Memorial weekend!
