Yes, totally excited! but if we don't figure out a system of team defense and some effective clutch time plays, I wouldn't be surprised we finish high in regular season and crash quickly in playoff, even with healthy harden + howard.
It's not about the record. The Rockets have been winning despite not playing all that well. People see the potential, which is why their expectations are high. If the Rockets can put it all together and play complete games, they will be very very good. And people are excited about that. So when they see them do stupid things to lose leads and games, it is a little frustrating to watch. But they'll get it. They're still pretty green as a team.
Happy with 9-5, but unhappy knowing this team won't make a buzz in the playoff given the problems on defense, rebounding and TOs
Still think we have seen the potentials in players, but not the team as a whole and main reason probably is coaching. Realizing this sounds like LOF.
Hell yeah, we should all feel good...We could easily be 12-2 or 11-3 ...even though..... Harden has been playing on two injured wheels. Omer Asik needed to be tried with Dwight.......And as originally thought, he's getting dealt. PF has been an ongoing experiment from day 1. Jones was always going to be the most NBA ready, but DMo has greater upside. Seeing as our window is now, we have had to figure out whether a big move for LMA or Love is in order. There is also the matter of PG, where Rondo might very well be in play for us. Players/coaches/the TEAM has to gel, but moves ARE going to be made...We have a lot of talent now, but later in the season..........ooohheee! We're putting it together on the fly and come playoff time, a healthy Rockets team is going to be one that NOBODY wants to play.
What I want to see is improvement, and that's what I see from everybody including Dwight, we know he stunk with the Lakers.
Why unhappy? because we can easily be 12-2....while we are only at 9-5, those three games hurt my heart, and the coaching hurt my brain.
Me too - it is just going to take some time to get the chemistry right, I do think they screwed the pooch early with the TT experiment and that cost us about 3 wins, and Harden needs to move the ball and stop trying to do too much, but I see a lot of promise and depth. DD
Honestly, I can list several things about this team that doesn't make me feel good. But if they would just cut the turnovers in half, I'd be elated.
Exactly. The X factor is Lin, we MUST be able to count on him to be confident and bring it every.single.game. The Mavs game he was a non factor, I say we win that game if he gave SOMETHING in the 4th quarter. If Lin is consistent and confident night in and night out, we are a bug threat to win the West.
Too bad he's not going to be hot every game. McHale yanking him after only 2 min everytime he's on the court in Mav's game doesn't help him getting his groove either.
I like the team every year. I never want to trade guys. The Rockets are one thing in my life that I don't try to work on or improve. Admittedly I b**** plenty, about negative posters on CF. But my mode as a fan of the Houston Rockets is "Love 'em as is."
Sorry, Lin has played 12 good games out of 14. Almost all players have a bad game every once in a while. He was a huge factor in at least half of the 12 good games he played. I don't think people should worry about championships and playoffs this year. Even talking about playoffs now is premature. It's a long season, the team will develop better chemistry and I guess there will be personnel moves by the time playoffs come around. Players will be closer to their real season numbers by about 10 games after the ASB, so a process needs to take place and the team needs to use the early games to figure out how to get better.
Precisely... I don't understand why some people don't get the high expectations for this team... This is not flawed premature excitement over the potential of a Steve Francis, Cat and Eddie Griffin lineup... This team is winning on pure ability/talent, despite amateurish/poor coaching, high turnovers, and terribly inconsistent defense per game... There is plenty of valid reasoning behind people's high expectations and it's subsequently fueled and expressed dissatisfaction with the team. It's just not always expressed with reason...
I am feeling pretty good about this team as is we gave up only 123 points to the Mavs. I believe we should stay put.
