Yeah Ariza is just horrible that they're 5-0 or 6-0 lmfao. You fail. FYI new orleans wasn't so great last season, and this season they're off to a flying start because partially because ariza is there. And lee has always been in losing teams and even statistically not that impressive. Hopefully he gets traded.

He started for a team that went to the NBA finals 2 years ago.

I don't know what has caused Lee to get so much hate.

Guy has played outstanding defense, runs well and finishes in transition and has knocked down the 3's.

Ariza was a cancer in the lockerroom and that was well documented there is no way that he fits the Rockets better than Courtney Lee.

Yup and so was Artest..total cancer..but both of them won rings with the lakers. I've got nba league pass and I have yet to see the player that you're describing. Outstanding defense? All their games finishd over 100 points losses. Not a great scorer, period.

a little early to determine If getting Lee/ ridding Ariza was a bad move. I like Lee though. I think he will get better as the season goes on. Ariza wasn't bad either and may have played better with Yao back and being a fourth or fifth option.

You cannot compare the two team's records and judge which individual player is better based on that. Neither player is good enough or bad enough to make a significant difference in the win/loss columns this early in the season. You could probably put Lee on the Hornets instead of Ariza and they would have the same or close to the same record they have now. I am not saying Ariza is bad, but he is not that good either. To even imply that he is responsible in any way for the Hornet's record just leaves me confused. The same can be said for Lee.

The right way to think about Lee vs. Ariza is: is the difference between the two worth the 6 or 7 mil difference in salary + luxury tax of having Ariza around? I can think of a lot of ways to spend 7 mil

Honestly, I'm just happy I don't have to watch Ariza on the offensive side of the ball any more. That was my main thing about this trade, not just who we were getting back for him, but just the fact that he was gone.

    1) Ariza wasn't a great defender, merely a good (but overrated) one who gambled too much and had to bailed out by others constantly. This might not be a problem if you have size, quickness and shot blocking, but we didn't have that and Ariza didn't seem to be very capable of adjusting to that. The fact that Kevin Martin is worse defender doesn't make Ariza great.

    2) Volume shooting (Ariza) isn't very wise when you are terribly inefficient. His TS% is atrocious so shooting less, not more, is the better choice.

    3) FG% in itself is a horribly misleading stat, perfect for the average moron who fails to understand even basic math.

    4) Getting beat "a couple times against wolves(the worst team in the league)" doesn't mean anything. Everybody gets beat a couple of times, even against the worst teams.

    5) Courtney Lee isn't a PG so his PG skills are really not relevant(nor is Jermaine Taylor to the discussion at hand). He might be able to defend some 1's and play some spot minutes offensively there, but expecting him to develop real Nba caliber point guard skills at this point is stupid.

We had three quality guys on the SF slot: C-bud, Ariza, Battier

We had only 1 quality guy on the SG slot and one unknown: Martin, JT

There was a perceived glut because all three guys played well last season. Getting a better backup SG made sense at the time.

Exactly. I don't know why people are making such a fuss. Technically its a downgrade, however the impact is probably negligible, and the Rox saved some $$ in the process. Too bad they blew it on Rad Miller lol.

    Chase Buddinger is Ariza's replacement.

Courtney Lee is Jermaine Taylor's replacement.

Would you really rather have Ariza and JT getting minutes instead of the 2 guys we have on the roster now?

I can't believe someone who sucks as bad as he does actually has AOF's. You guys have got serious, serious mental problems.

I can't believe you are giving credit to Ariza over CP3. When CP3 was healthy, the Hornets won 56 games. You are right that their record stunk with Collison leading them for half the season, last year. It's because CP3 is that makes the impact on that team, not Ariza.

I would like to see how Ariza plays, if CP3 gets another injury this year.

It's a stastical losing season to Koopa, because the Magic won 59 games with Lee. If Lee wasn't on that team, it's a winning team to him.
