Great news, I can't wait! That brace issue is definitely worrisome, but being the elite player Yao is, I expect him to adapt pretty quickly and dominate. I really hope so anyways, don't want those 26/10 avergages to fall off.

why is what yao saying about his rehab and what the coach saying in another thread/article completely opposite? I'm not sure who the beleive. I know Yao just hates being on the sidelines and may be over anxious to return, while the coach may have a more realistic outlook here...only time will tell whos right

Yao Ming, Center, Hou: Initial Timetable Too Aggressive?
    2/26/2007 10:53:11 AM - Houston Chronicle
Update: As reported here on February 23, Rockets head coach Jeff Van Gundy says that Yao Ming is struggling a great deal adjusting to the knee brace he must wear after injuring his knee earlier this season. Now Van Gundy is elaborating further, saying that Yao is "a lot further away from playing NBA basketball than maybe the timetables would suggest."
Analysis: This is bad news for Yao Ming owners and good news for those of you who have been riding out Dikembe Mutombo as he fills in for Yao. The public timetable on his recovery is "mid- to late March", and if that is now overly optimistic, we may have seen the last of Yao's typically dominant fantasy performances for the season.

Yeah, this is the same thing as the Chron report. I think JVG is being pessimistic as usual, he made a big deal about Yao's shoes in the preseason but that became a nonissue. What we can take from this is that the knee brace has become an issue. Hopefully they fix the problem like they did with his shoes.

    Yao's Injury

Not sure if this has been posted yet. I can't make new threads, but this might be worth one.
