Sounds like what we used to do on purpose when we were about 14; we would unscrew the lid to a salt shaker but not quite all the way, so it would look like nothing was wrong, until the unsuspecting next person used it. We used to feel obligated to leave them like that in restaurants. I didn't realize July 5th was a holiday to so many people... we were coming back from the beach this morning, since we just happen to work in the evenings right now and didn't have to be at work yet. And there were lots of people on the highway. Did they just take the day off, or have the day off, or what? And the part about coming in when you didn't have to... reminds me of junior year in college. I (unwisely) tried skipping my early class a few times, and some of the times I did come were the times we weren't going to have class and I'd forgotten about it.
