Went camping this past weekend in Huntsville. So hot. The heat wasn't too bad, while staying in the shade, but there was very little breeze. The worst part was using the showers. You go in soaking wet with sweat, take a cool shower, and then as soon as you shut the water off, you're sweating again. A lot. Sleeping was actually OK. We had fans in the tent. We were pretty jealous of the tents that had little window units though.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to drive around with no AC like I did in Houston back in the 80's or go outside and hoop when it's 95+. But even going back and visiting Houston is a pain nowadays. Every time I get there in the summer, I'm like "how did I breathe in this?" lol. Of course DFW has been getting humid, too, but even though the heat index is around the same, I'd rather live somewhere dryer.
