No, you got outwitted by someone who is winging an elaborate troll scheme. Judging by the fact that you just got irl trolled, i'd say he's doing a pretty good job.

Sorry Breaker, I'm r****ded or something. I shouldn't have linked to those ads with your number in them. Can somebody fix that post where I was quoted?
Interesting turn. I am not sure he technically committed a crime or violated a law. You can sue him in small claims court but buying something that cheap requires a consumer to be cautious none-the-less. "Buyer beware" is the motto here. Unless it's something that the consumer can not determine such as a packaged item or something like meat or poultry...or something that contains hazardous chemicals, I don't think you can go after this person for criminal behavior. Even the posting of Breaker's phone number may not be a crime but rather a violation of CL's terms of use. Harassment is something very narrowly defined but I'm no legal expert. I looked at an end table for $20 bucks. The guys said it was new, it obviously wasn't. Then he tried to persuade me to take it off his hands offering to drop the price to $15 if I took it that night. I knew then and there the item was stolen or picked up some place like the trash. I didn't take it and walked out. The whole feel was sketchy. This guy was foolish to brag about his operation, but really - he only gets away with it because people are naive. There is no way you can get something great for $5. Think about it. If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true. That's an axiom I've never seen violated. I think the guy didn't anticipate that people here would jump on him and track him down. Pretty funny. But it's clear he doesn't fear legal repercussion since he tauntingly put the phone number up. I am sure he knows the law well enough to be aware of what he can or can not get away with. And I am sure he will find a way to reappear both here and on CL. It's not hard to find a different IP address and create a new identity. And most crooks use disposable mobile phones anyway so they aren't really traceable.
Looks like you pride yourself on being able to scam someone on the internet...smart...? Not really...if you ask me. You have actually exposed yourself to unknown consequence because of $20? $10? Or even $5? Are you kidding me?
Wow, I read this thread last night when it started and thought nothing of it because 1) I thought he was lying/trolling or 2) He's making $5 not worth the status of epic-thread. But after reading whats been posted this stuff is getting deep.
no, it appears to be a fairly recent creation(as in today) Being banned has sent our little troll into an overdrive of frustration, and he is lashing out against folks who were mean to him here.
*popcorn* Man it gets great, semi boring, and now hopefully great again This reminds me of the free agent carvan when CF found the hotel they were at and the city they were in. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF CF. Now we have his number and address, is it pizza ordering time again?
Awesome! Also on another note, this gives me hope that the address I found last night might actually be his. One of you need to go over there and verify.
Yeah, I'm convinced: That guy is nuts. This wasn't some elaborate scheme, it was just a crazy dude being crazy.
Not particularly, rickrock the boss. Do you routinely get giddy at the thought of penile fantasies?
