I used to drive past one along the county line, nothing but acreage and homesteads for 30 miles in either direction. Some nights, they’d turn on this old inflatable tube man. But this one was a little off. No arms, and the top was tied into a knot with a white cloth. It was this flesh-colored shaft with fabric flailing around up top. I always wondered if they meant it to look exactly like what it looked like. It was raided and shut down after about 8 months of operating
Not an illegal gambling joint but I found a speakeasy in Austin last time I was there that was serving alcohol at 3AM. Security was crazy tight and I was pat down in ways only my wife pats me down. Booze was stupid expensive but hey, we were partying in the wee hours. Surprisingly nice place with a good DJ.
I heard recently one was operating directly across from a police station main office for years without anyone knowing.
Apparently the game room near my parents was the hub of a big operation. From news video it seems that's where he was arrested It's crazy it's a decent sized building and my mother's friend told her what it was when driving by. The parking lot always seemed full. So there was crazy money involved as the main guy had $22 million. That's a crazy for any criminal besides ponzi schemes and white collar crimes https://abc13.com/post/14-people-ch...ons-houston-including-30-game-rooms/16124092/
