I agree there are idiots on both sides, no doubt. And there are indeed those who shift Lins bad performances too much to others while not owning up to Lins part in it. This is not debatable. Those comments are totally ridiculous. I agree completely. But, come on. Don't confuse them with Rockets fans who see worth in Lin and defend him cuz they like Lin and cant abide the gatin idiots while never throwing Houston under the bus. And there's no way you would see everything I'm posting but I rip into plenty of Lin fans who talk about what's good for Lin rather than what's good for the Rockets or idiots who trash the Rockets organization and/or Houston. Plenty of times. I don't abide those either. It's just the haters outnumber (or outvoice) the Lin Only Fans. You may be confusing those who defend Lin while still caring about the entire Rockets organization and Houston, as an example, if Lin trucks it out there and gets turnover happy he should sit or if we could get a better pg we should trade him, with those few who couldn't care less about the Rockets. The current state of this board when it comes to Lin is that the haters dog Lin and get annoying and when people defend Lin as they should defend a Rockets player they like, they start blaming this imaginary horde of LOF/bogeyman/straw man for ruining their otherwise logical, supportive and unbiased hate. It's not the Lin fans starting the attack.
Lol, great OP. But if everyone was logical, GARM would probably have 10 posts. Clutch secretly loves the traffic that the Jeremy Lin brings....
I think of 90% of the posters tried to ignore the 10% of people who spend all of their time yelling at each other, then we could all move on with our lives. Instead, we have stuff like this just adding more fuel to the fire. Ideally the mods would just ban or suspend the blatant trolls, but since they aren't willing or able to do so it's left to the rest of us to just ignore the arguing. If you can't ignore it, then block those users. I guarantee you that the one time they add something meaningful to a discussion will not make up for the fifty other times they are complete tools.
Actually it seems the posters that make those comments are trolls, not real Lin fans. In fact, they aren't even haters, just plain trolls. If you look at their comment histories, you'll notice a pattern of them making outlandish statements to purposely make his fans look bad and to get everyone arguing with each other. So don't fall for it.
Good OP, but logical =/= neutral. Some people that bash Lin have legit reasons. Same goes for people that praise him.
Quite good, but you left out one of the most important stages: Stage 3.5 "the Hate". After the first game against OKC, when everyone played bad, Lin was singled out as the scapegoat, outrageous comments were posted all over. Single most disappointing event I've witnessed on a fan forum. Anyone who participated in that mob cannot really be regarded as "true" "objective" fan unless amends are made.
ALL they're doing? All? Maybe you don't like what they're doing but to over-generalize like that is even worse.
Don't agree. Maybe things have gone down but that wasn't the case. I don't like people who like going to message boards and trashing it. A certain standard should be upheld IMHO.
There is no 'we' in Jeremy Lin. The Jeremy Lin is praised. The Jeremy Lin does no wrong. The Jeremy Lin needs no playoffs to prove his greatness. The Jeremy Lin is the best and always proves the haters wrong. He is the Jeremy Lin. Dwight is secondary to his cause.
Don't forget cruel! Tragic. Cruel. Cruel. Tragic. Cruel. Undefinable. I hope you stick around this forum and continue to watch the Rockets once Lin has come and gone. I'd like to see your posts about another player without that grain of Lin. I'd like to see if that fanaticism (that lot's of us here have including me) translates to any other player. Either that or I hope Jeremy Lin sticks around with the Rockets long enough for fanaticism to age like a fine wine. Important thing is that you come from a good place and will probably learn to laugh at yourself eventually. Even if it's cruel and tragic. This place helps with all kinds of pain and it's a place where you can sound things out before you go public with it. Basically, welcome to our fan support center, farva! <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/fJQnM_4gn1A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> #CRUEL #TRAGIC

I'm sorry but this whole notion that Lin fans bring down all other players on the team just to prop Lin up and that they don't recognize Lin's weaknesses is far from the truth. On almost all these Lin threads I have rarely if ever seen Lin fans blame the whole team except Lin. Sure, they defend him and even call out players on a game to game basis when they don't play well, but to say they don't realize Lin's own mistakes and weaknesses and blame everyone else is just wrong. Yeah, a few do that, but they definitely a small percentage. The amount of crap Lin gets on this board is exponentially higher than anyone else on the team, and even neutral posters have agreed it's out of hand. And I think you guys have this notion that all Lin fans pretty much hate everyone else on the team and do not show any support to anyone except Lin. That also couldn't be further from the truth. Yea, they probably wish that the Rockets ran through Lin a little more because of what they saw last year, but I haven't seen any posts of them blaming other players consistently. I have, however, seen much evidence of the "LOH's hating on Lin every time he has a bad game yet showing no support to him when he has a good game.
