Isn't that a traitorous act by his own definition that he like to use so often before? :p

and here's text from a Nov 8th article, which also seems to have disappeared (via STACLU)

Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.

Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it. Illinois law states that the governor chooses that replacement. There’s already been speculation about his selection…from Congressman Jesse Jackson, Junior to Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs Director Tammy Duckworth.

Obama is really, really looking bad here. Obama supported Blagojevich. Blagojevich was close with Rezko. There's a lot of smoke here, folks. Where there's smoke, there's fire. Now Jester Jr is involved. Chicago-style cronies - now we got one in Washington.

Gosh gee whiz, with google and caching and all that stuff it shouldn't be that hard to find a copy of this article that thus far is only appearing all over right wing blogs, should it?

cuz Google News is silent on this one, I searched byline:

    http://news.google.com/news?source=...Wednesday,+November+05,+2008&btnG=Search+News

This is almost too good to be true - basso did you inadvertently post a fabricated right wing news article off the blogs? Because if so....well it would be kicking a dead horse.

EDIT: It gets even better - now here's an alleged retraction, the FREEPER reaction - CONSPIRACY! lol.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...+clarification+regarding+a+story.&btnG=Search

basso - how many times have I warned you about using FREEPER comments as real news? Jesus H. Christ.....

1 more thing - while Blago is a total crook and should go to jail, it's unclear to me how the whole senate seat-sale thing constitues mail/wire fraud. I'm sure there's probably a precedent somewhere which is why the complaint was brought (maybe there isn't, not sure)....but the way in which the complaint operates charges that the fraudulent scheme was to defraud the people of Illinois of his "honest services" as governor by selecting a senate seat. Seems pretty flimsy to me on a legal basis - I would have to think there's some sort of official corruption statute he's violating, though most mail/wire fraud claims are jurisidictional hooks in fed cases.

That's my point. Several Republicans are trying to tar Obama with Blagojevich but if Obama was really involved in a pay to play for his senate seat why would Blagojevich curse him out? IMO it doesn't matter whether he talked to him or not. He clearly wouldn't deal with Blagojevich to sell his seat otherwise Blagojevich wouldn't be pissed at him.

    li'l t,

All your impotent bleating about Blago, Rezko, Ayers, etc isn't going to change the fact that in little more than a month a half-balack, elitist, hoodrat, quasi-muslim named Barack HUSSEIN Obama will be sworn in as the 44th president of the United States of America.

    USA!
    USA!
    USA!

I'll admit I don't understand why all the back and forth regarding whether Obama met with Blagojevich or not to fill his Senate seat. It seems natural to me that an outgoing US Senator would meet with the governor of the same party to talk about a replacement.

Leaving that though I still don't see how this is a scandal in any way considering that Blagojevich exonerates of Obama by saying on tape that he is pissed that Obama and his people are offering nothing but gratitude.

OMG! Corruption! Obama offers gratitude for Blagojevich appointing someone Obama likes to the Senate. :p

as rocketsjudoka has mentioned there isn't really anything that needs whitewashing.

Would you care to spell out what it is you think Obama did improperly here?

So far the only evidence we have is that Obama pissed the gov off by only offering gratitude and no special favors or cash.

i posted earlier that it would be entirely normal and proper for them to have met, talked, had "contact" and discussed his replacement. which just makes it very curious that he's at such pains to say they didn't, particularly when there's quite a bit of evidence to suggest they did.

why the cover up if there's nothing to cover up?

There has to be reason that he is pissed at Obama and calling him a motherf****. If Blag went to Obama and Obama refused to go along with the scheme (thus, the reason that he's pissed) than shouldn't have Barack blew the whistle on this guy when it went down.
