Seriously! I don't think people truly understand what they have here. Harden is a GENERATIONAL talent. Should be a 2-time MVP winner.

Need to appreciate every second. The grass is not always greener.

By my count he should have been a 4 time MVP :)

i just read the paragraph in the OP.

Is it really a referendum, AGAIN, on Trevor Ariza not re-signing?? I mean, let's be honest... THE ONLY reason not re-signing Trevor Ariza for $15 million, after he was his usually MEH self when it mattered the most in the playoffs, is bad in retrospect, is because somehow the Suns managed to turn that into Kelly Oubre. ABSOLUTELY a move one would like to have been able to do, but you can't really predict that stupidity on the Wizards part.

I'm not saying Fertitta isn't cheap.

I am tired of the "but they didn't resign Ariza!!" posts. Ariza sucked at the end..

B-b-b-b-but you should have still signed Ariza because in the off chance Oubre would have been available you had the necessary asset to trade

The last time anyone that in any way follows the NBA even had the name Ariza pop into their head was when he was traded for Oubre, and even then only with the thought of "wtf did the WIzards just do???"

People making it sound like the Warriors or some other championship caliber squad picked him up.

The moves they did make were horrible, and Tillman is cheap... but ENOUGH about Ariza, or even a 1 year Melo deal. Carmelo ALSO sucks. Idgaf about a redemption tour, or whatever. He sucks.

We weren’t giving Ariza 15m for a year.

Absolutely true. We should have re-signed our only wing defender.

We had our GOAT season record, we took what was arguably the GOAT team tp 7 games, up 3-2 when Paul got injured, and Tilly decided it wasn't worth paying for or bringing back. Our defense was good, and then we tried to replace Ariza and Moute with Ennis and Melo, shockingly, our D got significantly worse, which became the teams biggest problem.

The amount of jumping through hoops to defend Tilman here is a ****ing joke.

that's why all those cheap shitty wings that were per the casual fan thought oh he can replace ariza. Wrooooooong.

yup. that's the same tilman attitude that has him in this state that started 2 years ago that Iko has highlighted Good job Iko. Can't wait to see the new scrubs that come in once a few players move on to much better situations

Even if Ariza sucked in game 7 he was a key piece to our team and we didn’t even bother replacing him cuz our owner didn’t want to spend. How’d James Ennis work out?

Plus wouldn’t it have been nice to have a 15 million dollar expiring contract to trade for a 3rd star? Cmon it’s not about the player it’s about the opportunity.

You know what else got progressively worse?

Ariza, who came up small once again in a playoff series.

    1. Moute was done even before the playoffs started with that dislocated shoulder. Then he tried to come back and dislocated it again, IIRC, on a breakaway dunk. Dude HAD to be replaced in the offseason. There's a reason why, to this day, anytime there's a Luc sighting I always ask the question "Did he ever get surgery on that dislocated shoulder?" and either I get no response or someone says no. Luc was great for us that year but his performance was lightning in a bottle.

    2. Ariza after the 2017-2018 season, in a vacuum, did not warrant a $15 million salary. People want to rehash the glory days of that season and his contribution to the team but I remember an Ariza that, while playing above average defense, was inconsistent on offense during the regular season, even moreso in that fabled GSW WCF series. The guy shot 2-18 from 3 in Games 6 and 7 with an 0-9 from 3 and 0-12 overall in Game 7. His play didn't improve when he went to Washington where he was asked to fill the same role he had in Houston. It only got better in Phoenix statistically because they didn't need him to shoot 5-6 3s a night.

There are MANY MANY things you can blame Tilman for over the past 3 years but not re-signing Ariza (which, if you're going to share blame, Morey had a hand in it as well) is not one of them. As for not finding (or allowing Morey to) comparable replacements through free agency or trade, THAT is something you can put on Tilman.

    Who is defending Tillman?

    Can you point them out?

This is calling out the fact of using Ariza as an example is just bad.

And I have no idea what Melo salary has to do with anything, he got a buyout.

Now I am all for using a 1st to dump salary as an example.

How has Ariza worked out since leaving Houston.

Ennis has done just as well, he at least was a rotation piece on a playoff team.

Billionaire behind Rainforest Cafe, Bubba Gump's: 'We can't afford' to give SF workers healthcare

Tilman Fertitta NBC's "Billion Dollar Buyer."

Billionaire Tilman Fertitta, sole owner of Landry's Inc., a corporation responsible for a number of recognizable chain restaurants including Claim Jumper, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Rainforest Cafe, and McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks, believes that San Francisco shouldn't mandate its restaurants pay for city workers' healthcare.

In "Billion Dollar Buyer," a CNBC show starring the restauranteur, Fertitta says his businesses have to charge more for the same menu items because San Francisco requires some types of businesses to contribute to their workers' healthcare coverage.

"All these states now are doing their own mandates," Fertita says. "Why should the city of San Francisco be able to do absolutely whatever they want to do?"

Within the city of San Francisco, restaurants with 20 people or more on the staff (excluding the owners and managers) must contribute to its employees' healthcare as part of the Healthy SF program. To make up for the extra expense, some add a separate line item charge to patrons' bills, and others roll it into a dish's total cost, but all restaurants under local legislation have a choice as to how they work with the added cost of business.

The restaurant must then do one of three things for all employees who work more than eight hours a week: purchase health insurance for employees, contribute to a public city-run program that will provide healthcare for employees, or add money to a health reimbursement account.

Fertitta employs 60,000 people by CNBC's estimates, although it's not clear how many of them work in San Francisco.

"Do you realize, all the restaurants in San Francisco, we all have added charge?" says Fertitta. "We have a 3 percent or 4 percent or 5 percent add-on to the menu because they make us give all our employees full healthcare. We can't afford to do it."

He adds that cities like San Francisco should be forced to follow a federally-defined law as far as what kinds of benefits restaurants should be required to provide to their employees. Until then, customers at his San Francisco restaurants will just have to fork out a little more for their "Bucket of Boat Trash."

    Good staff. Awful company
Sever (Former Employee) - The Colony, TX - April 5, 2019
I helped open the new Colony location. I am going to start off by saying that they hired a good group of servers/host/bartenders and was sad to leave. But the things they expect you to do for a job that barely covers the bills is outstanding. For example, dealing with a two table section, ranking system (or a favoritism system, managers discretion), long hours (if you let them), no respect for your set schedule, etc. The management team here does not care for you. If you need time off and let them know in advance, immediate denial, unless you got it covered (which is a rarity here). The back of the house is always in chaos, orders are constantly coming back due to inconsistency. Which is annoying when you have to do it to all your tables.

You can get hired on for your desired position and then, due to overstaffing FOH positions, they will ask you to do other jobs you have no business doing. No foodrunners, so on weekends servers are required to have a runner shift.

For benefits, you have TO PAY FOR YOUR DISCOUNT. That is $20.00 a month. They will not let you drink anything other than water if you do not have it. They tell you when you can and cannot use your discount that you pay for. Forget about it. Not worth it.
    Pros
    Nice staff
    Cons
No breaks, no balance, not enough business, poor management
