[Iko] gordon wants to retire in Houston, expect extension

Isn’t Gordon signed through 2020?

 

What I meant was "another" one. I know he's probably getting paid less than he deserves.

The one thing about Eric Gordon is he will suck for stretches in the regular season but in the playoffs he always shows up so I hope retires a rocket

 

This is meaningless. Really. He's coming up on last year of his deal. It's in his best interest to say the right things to generate extension talks. Because with his bad back and now in his 30's he'd rather get another 4 years tacked on to his present deal. Her turned down a 2- year extension earlier that would have made hin trade eligible. He wants an additional 4 years in July and that's totally understandable.

But from the Rockets perspective we cannot afford the risk of 4 years on him as long as we've got both Paul and Capela on long term deals. Not unless we move Capela and get Gordon signed to a smaller figure extension that is immediately tradable.

We've already shown our hand here. And EGo has already been told by Morey. He'll have to accept a lower smaller extension to stay. Or we will likely trade him. This statement from him is actually an indicator that he wants out after this year. He's starting a salary drive. Which is what he should do.

I will say I love eg n think he the one the most important rockets...but I think u he has reach his ceiling with us...he a good player..but we need a guy to handle the ball to help harden during the reg6season cause cp3 is getting old n should be only a when u get to the playoffs guy. We need a butler to help harden during the regular season
