Amen seems the type to be incredibly pissed off if he were to miss the playoffs entirely. Would motivate him in another way imo but playoff experience is incredibly valuable and i how he's back in time.

Ime really is the Nigerian Tom Thibodeau. He constantly over plays certain players. There’s no excuse for Amen to be in the game. He had his chance get 10 rebounds earlier, the game is over now. I don’t trust this ime dude, he’s made too many questionable decisions so far in his rockets tenure that may affect this team down the line.

Exactly, Ime doesn't care about the stats but this kind of thing matters to most players. He left Amen in because Amen wanted to stay in.

The other thing is this was a rolled ankle on a jumper. It could happen at any time. It could happen at practice the next day or the beginning of the next game. It's part of the game, it happens. It would be a bigger deal to me if it was the type of play that doesn't really happen in practice, like someone taking him out on a dunk attempt or something. Clutchfans should understand this, we've had players get injured outside of a game before.

 

To be fair the Rockets are in no position, the often so called bench depth isn't really that great and experienced.

Give it 2 years and active GM'ing by Stone, then we are talking.

That's BS. Plenty of us(including me) wanted Ime to take out the starters BEFORE this injury happened. I even posted it in the game thread.

This is entirely on Ime. You don't take any chances with your key players, especially anyone who plays PG given that you're already down Fred and Reed.

 

I made a post in the Amen is point forward or guard thread before the game regarding Amen's huge uptick in minutes in recent months, both in regards to how it's leading to his drop in production as well as the utter unsustainable nature of this type of minutes for someone who plays as hard as him.

Now obviously I wasn't predicting injury this game, as it was just random chance I looked up Amens splits on basketball reference earlier today, but running a kid into the ground with ridiculous minutes and asking him to be dpoy does have consequences eventually

 

The telecast didn't have a great shot of it from behind the play. Just the wide view.

Unfortunately, If he couldn't put weight on it then a grade 2 sprain is the best case scenario. He's out 6 to 8 weeks at the least. Swelling won't even go down in 2 weeks. This is so ****ed up. He could possibly come back early for the playoffs but he won't be the same Amen for a while, mentally speaking. If any ligaments are completely torn then he'll be out longer.

Starting with Ime Udoka You love running players into the ground now, after benching players over and over. Amen Thompson is his Favorite player playing 40 minutes. Now he is out, Now what with the remaining games left.

In Season Tournament incoming, Rockets really could be eliminated from the Playoffs if they become a 7th seed or lower and lose the Play In game, Rockets are out of the Playoffs.

 

Losing Nia Long was brutal, but what makes it worse is just how fugly the married side chick was. Was that even worth it? You're a former champion and the best coach in the league that season. Biggest turnover of his career.
